Very similar to the type of banners used during the Winter Classic. I kinda like it.

I like it, and whoever says "it sucks because it ruins Wrigley's mystique" or some other BS is stupid because Wrigley from the outside, save the marquee is really ugly.

Better than the concrete slabs and since they were removed, better looking than the open fencing.

This isn't that part of the stadium.

Anyone gonna be in the neighborhood before dark? I'm geeking out over this and would appreciate some better pics.

Man I don't know if I want to feed into your geeking out. I am probably going to be driving that way before dark, so I'll see what I can do but no promises. If not, I'm sure BCB will have photos up within the next few hours, Al always seems to love positing that stuff.

Couldn't agree more... want to see more pics of this.

I don't know about this. I never had problems with the fence there looking at all the people wandering up and down the ramps. I may be in the minority, but I kind of liked it. I guess I am going to have to see it next week in person to get a better idea.

I hope they put some Cub greats on the banners and not just current players. I would love to see a giant Hector Villanueva banner.

These are of a mesh construction, similar to the material used to cover the right field gate to Sheffield Ave. They will not obstruct the view out of the park.

Similar note from BleedCubbieBlue.

Look at the finished scoreboard:

Here's what it looked like at the end of last season:

I ended up snapping some photos last night, but it was at night and with my crappy iPhone camera so they aren't of the highest quality. Oh well....

I think it looks cheesy too. A little overboard. I dont think the park other than the sign is ugly. I dont care much for the chain link fencing, but other than that I think its got a nice classic look. I wouldnt be opposed to some of these banners maybe further down the side of the park but it just looks clustered the way it is.

Very cluttered. I'd rather see them in a single row spaced out evenly down the lines. What's the point of jamming them all around the marquee? It's completely out of place and tacky.
