4/7 GT Cubs(Dempster) vs. Braves(Jurjens) 6:10 CST CSN+

Wow, that sucked, but much like Jeff Samardjzias Cubs career hoepfully does soon, it came to a merciful end.`In the standings, a wife beating of epic proportions means the same as a 2-1 pitchers duel. It will be:

Ryan Dempster 2009 11-9 3.64ERA 1.305WHIP

Vs.

Jair Jurrgens 2009 14-10 2.60ERA 1.224WHIP

(I googled his name, and this picture was on page 2)

Lets beat that pink 2 headed bastard.

I'd love to see Colvin and Baker start for Soriano and Fontenot.

Oh well.

Giving up on Soriano after one game?

You know, Colvin didn't get a hit in his at bat either.

Keeping in mind I don't know Nady' health status, I'd say there's a fair chance he or Colvin will starting in LF within a month.

Certain years in recent memory in which the Cubs lost opening day:

1998

2007

2008

How many years did they lose by 11 :)

Maybe it a good thing then. In those years, we lost opening day, and went on to forgettable postseason. This year, we get our asses handed to us on opening day, so maybe we go all the way!

Following today's closely fought battle in Atlanta, the Cubs have dropped into last place in the NL Central. With so much of the season already played, it will be difficult for the Cubs to make a run at the division title.

The last teams to reach the playoffs after starting the season this poorly were the Philadelphia Phillies, St. Louis Cardinals, Colorado Rockies, Minnesota Twins and New York Yankees in 2009.

You have to go back to 2009 to find the last 2 World Series teams who started so poorly and the last WS winner was back when the Yankees were opening up their new Yankee Stadium in 2009.

As you can see, the Cubs now have their work cut out for them.

have I mentioned how much I hate off days after Opening Day?

Can someone explain to me why this is a good idea?

And like I said all through college, the sooner you get behind the longer you have to catch up. The Cards better be looking over their shoulders.

It's meant in case of a rainout/snowout of Opening Day games... I guess I can see the point if it's because of all the festivities and such.

that's fine if you're opening in Chicago, but in Atlanta, I'll take my chances on decent weather
