I don't like Illinois coming into this on a 2-game losing streak. Plus being the Big Ten opener there's not going to be any lack of focus or looking past Iowa. I also really wonder how we're actually going to score points against Big Ten defenses.

I'll be there with my dad and brother wearing orange, I really hope we don't lose.

Just don't bring 200 students with you. Hopefully they won't come because of break and the bowl game.

yea we're hoping we can watch the bowl game at a local watering hole before the b-ball game.

I really want to go, but like an idiot didn't put in for time off for it. Although I don't think I would want to be there with any of my Iowa fan friends if we lost.

There are some places there along Hwy 6 that you could hit. Wig and Pen is a local place with the best food (and solid beer selection) combo but it's right down the hill from Carver and typically packed before games. Right next to that is The Vine which is also pretty solid and would give you the best view of tv's. Either one of those are within walking distance to CHA so you can drink and not have to worry about driving until after 10 p.m.

Then of course further away you have chains like Old Chicago and Buffalo Wild Wings that would probably be less crowded but work.

I don't want to be anywhere with anyone if we lose to [expletive] Iowa

hahaha, no, you'll totally want to be hanging out with me. I won't give you [expletive] at all

Are they your 5th or 6th favorite college team NC?

That would be the ultimate indignity.

That said, Iowa was easier to hate when they weren't god awful...nah, they're still really easy to despise.

I just hope Illinois isn't able to set up their student section right behind one of the baskets again. That was embarrassing last year..

Lickliter was ok with it

He's an idiot, though. He was probably to caught up in moping on the sidelines to notice.

It was one of the more stunning displays of ignorance I've seen from a coach's postgame.

I believe they showed up in black or yellow and took off the shirts to reveal orange before gametime.

After the game when asked about it, Lickliter said something along the lines of: "Did they pay? OK, good."

He was such a dolt at times. I've already watched more games this year than the previous 3 seasons combined despite being so shitty.

Not to mention, no Todd Lickliter means no John Lickliter

Yeah they did a good job with it. They were wearing black and yellow shirts, not sure what was printed on them. They were booing Illinois during the pre-game and introductions and really loud for Iowa. They were super loud when Gatens was introduced.

At first I thought, "wow did they give away a block of tickets to Iowa City High students or something?" then I remembered they did almost the same thing 4 years ago (only that was higher up in a corner). Then like 10 seconds before tip they ripped them off and freaked out.
