What if the media had tried to paint him as a possible abuser whose clubhouse antics already divided and brought down one team and who fought with managers? People are a lot less likely to forgive things like that.

Before last season, didn't pretty much everyone always say that Bradley was a good teammate and well liked in the clubhouse?

Link to this? All I've heard was that Kinsler, Hamilton, Young, etc. would have led a mutiny if Bradley came back to Texas last year.

Either you're making that up or you're misremembering. Those guys loved bradley.

General Manager Jon Daniels declined to discuss the Rangers' decision-making process. But a club source said Daniels would have faced a mutiny from the likes of Young, Kinsler and Hamilton if he had kept Bradley. The same source says Daniels didn't trust Bradley enough to offer a long-term contract.

Yeah I just saw that link before I could edit my post.

I still don't believe it. I distinctly remember when Bradley signed here reading more than one article talking about how the guys in Texas adored Bradley.

That's definitely what I remember.

From everything I heard or read, he was extremely well liked in San Diego.

an observation:

it seems to me that the talk of bradley being a good clubhouse guy corresponds to fanbase size or level of media coverage of the baseball team in the market. in most cases one or both factors were small until he came to chicago, specifically the cubs. i honestly don't think that if he went to the sox instead of the cubs he would have been so vilified in the chicago media.

so that being said, i would not be surprised to hear a similar story regarding bradley in san diego that happened in texas.

I can go with that. There's definitely a greater degree of hysteria / hounding that happens with the Cubs than many other teams. Some guys just don't deal with it very well. Some handle it fine and wind up loving their time on the North Side.

If you do bad things you become unreasonably hated. If you do good things, you become everyone's buddy.

It's tough because in a way, I love being a Cub fan partially because people are so intense about it. But there's also a downside.

I think it's possible that he may have some anger issues.

I think he's just bat poop crazy

i think he has some anger issues AND he's bat poop crazy

I hope all of the posters who wanted to just keep Bradley and act like nothing happened can see that it wasn't possible.

Mwahaha Seattle sits down Bradley and tells him not to put too much pressure on himself. This reminds me of a little leaguer who is babied by his coach because he hasn't learned how to control his emotions. Bradley is literally still the 10-year old who blows up at the smallest things. I really wish MLB would be more like the NFL because he would have long ago been suspended and unable to ever play consistently because he has so many blow ups.

The cause for that is likely very, very sad.

Who was the NFLer to get suspended for being pissy towards everyone?

Let's see the NFL has always been very strict for hitting refs, put massive fines for flipping off fans and I would suspect Goodell would suspend for at least a season if not bar you for going into the stands with a bottle even though it was thrown at you by a fan.

I don't think you know what "literally" means.

You realize there is something called a mental age and Bradley is literally still a 10-year old temper tantrum prone kid in that respect.

The word you should have used is "figuratively". It's ok to admit mistakes.
