doesn't college baseball usually live in the Amateur Baseball forum?

it shouldn't. it belongs in a more high traffic area imo. Amateur baseball has the lowest traffic of any forum by leaps and bounds. If the mods want to move this there, then fine, they are being jerks. But if they do, then there won't be as many people A) aware that this thread even exists and b) thus participating in it.

I really wish more college baseball games were on TV, I would definitely follow it more. Unfortunately I only get the Big Ten Network and get the few games (at best) a week they might show and it's Big Ten baseball so yea....

If College baseball doesn't belong in amateur baseball forum then what does?

That forum is literally a wasteland. You can see tumbleweeds blowing through it. There are threads just halfway down on the front page that last had posts in freaking June. You put College Baseball there and you'll have the same 8 people posting in the thread just like last year and the year before and the year before. "Other Sports" is a highly trafficked sub-forum. This should be there.

There's going to be many more televised college games on the ESPN channels this year due to signing the mega contract with the SEC. But of course they are all SEC games, so if you aren't interested in that conference....

Is the audience for a college baseball thread bigger than those 8 people? Games are never on TV, the only reason people care as much as they do is to follow pro prospects, which is taken care of in the draft board.

Well I suggest that for one season we just see what happens if it is placed in a more highly trafficked area.

I suggest we put the 24 thread in the general baseball discussion board just to see if we can get more talk about it. And the game threads in a forum that nobody has access to so as to not embarrass everyone who posts in them.

The Amateur Baseball forum has 170 topics devoted specifically to amateur baseball. The Other Sports forum has 400 topics devoted to every other sport. I think a forum category for a topic is more high traffic than a single thread in another forum category.

yes, visited by the same six people.

and you'd be wrong on this one.

Yeah, it's so weird that baseball forum traffic is down during baseball offseason.

Stop being so obtuse and hyperbolic on this issue. You're pulling the same crap you tried last year on the issue.

you didn't post ONCE in the college baseball thread last year.

I'd guarantee you that if this thread were in this forum, it would have more than 9 pages over a six month period like the last baseball thread had.

That's probably wrong because nobody gives a crap about college baseball. Put it wherever you like, but the same 8 people are going to be the only ones discussing it.

we've already got 3 people in this thread that didn't post once in last year's thread. So being in a higher traffic area is working apparently.

None of them talking about college baseball, but rather thread placement. If that's what you hoped to drum up, congrats.

It is more interesting than college baseball.

To be honest I forget to check the amateur baseball thread all the time.

Back on topic, I hope Texas comes out firing this year after the choke job they gave in the National Championship. Not to mention the bad current streak the school has in finishing as the runner up.

They should do well. Jungmann and Ruffin are both pretty badass pitchers.

What would I have had to post about? Illinois' stellar college baseball teams? Just because I don't have a horse in the discussion doesn't mean I can't read it. Or that it doesn't belong in a forum devoted to that discussion.
