"We're here to be the last ones standing and we're still alive," goalie Martin Brodeur said. "We're throwing 45 shots at these goalies and they are making stops facing forward, backward, sideways. Eventually we'll be more successful."

yeah marty, it would also help if you could stop more than 18 of 22 shots

what an ass. as if he hasn't stolen his share of games during his career.

Or gone from being a great goalie to one of the best ever because of New Jersey's defensive system.

the Russian/Canadian quarterfinal game is going to be incredible. 2 very talented desperate teams. I think Babcock needs to look at the film and make some tough calls. Several top players(egos) are not playing well at all and are getting top minutes(Iginla, Pronger, Neidermayer) I thought Keith played great last night, but it seemed like he was not in the game much. I cant find a box score that has minutes played, but my guess is Seabrook played less then 5. Which seems bizarre since Pronger and Neidermayer were playing so poorly. Toews and Nash have been Canada's best forwards and finally seemed to be getting quality minutes in the 3rd period last night.

On the contrary it seems that Wilson is rewarding players who are giving good effort with more time. Which is leading to better effort from everyone. USA may have been out skilled last night but they were not out worked. The won the face-off battle, they won the battles in front of the net, and they won the battles for the puck in the corners. These are the things that win championships/medals in hockey.

I'm not a hockey person at all, but I have to admit what I saw of that game last night was pretty incredible. I missed the ending, unfortunately, but I saw the majority of the game while I was at Giordano's and it was really fun to watch.

We play Wednesday at 2:00 then Friday at 2:00 both on NBC. Bronze medal game is at 9:15 Saturday on MSNBC and Gold medal game is 2:15 on Sunday.

2:00 central? Wow, what a great start time.

Yeah it blows. I'll have to DVR and hope I can avoid hearing anything until I get home.

The times for the other Wednesday games are good though. Russia/Canada will be at 6:30 and our next opponent Finland/Czech will be at 9. Sweden/Slovakia is the late game at 11.

That 90 seconds or so when the canucks had them pinned in the zone just prior to the EN goal, I was 100% sure they were going to score. I might have to go back and watch that game again tonight.

pronger had 3 minutes of ice time in the third; keith and doughty had the most ice time in the game for canada.

i thought crosby was actually pretty good.

yes Crosby played well. Doughty has probably been their best dman overall. It was obvious the US was just dumping pucks in behind Pronger and Neidermayer and taking advantage of how slow they are.

Do you think Yzerman should have added Ryan Smythe to put some pressure on opposing goalies in front of the net?

So with the women's bobsleigh competition about to start, the rest of the world has caught up with the story:TV dream becomes reality

"Reality TV" is not the correct term, since Canvas is about equivalent to BBC2 in it's programming. From the very beginning, it's more been a documentary about starting from scratch than anything else.

now that i know that they don't score, yes. i was jumping up and down scaring my wife and children, pleading with the americans to clear the [expletive] puck, they just couldn't get possession.

When I saw this movie it was a 4-man bobsled.

It can take a surprisingly long time to dub a movie into Dutch.

I don't follow figure skating but apparently a girl who went to my old middle school and high school and lives in my hometown is skating in the short program tonight.

Apparently the men's champ is from Naperville.
