Any suggestions to help me get into Hockey? I can watch any sports (or even slightly sports related) event that there is. Baseball, basketball, football, tennis, golf, poker, soccer, etc. But, every time I sit down to watch hockey, I change it after 5 minutes. :[

The easy thing is to go to a game, it's incredible.

But if you can watch poker for longer than hockey, then maybe you are beyond help.

Seriously, even lower level hockey games are great live.

Going to a game may just reinforce his hatred for watching it on TV since the experience live is so much better than TV. I think either you love hockey or you don't. Personally I don't love it, but there is no better sporting event to see live than a well played, hard hitting hockey game.

I disagree. Hockey is clearly in third place for sports I enjoy watching, behind football (college or pro) and Cubs baseball. I've probably watched more hours of golf in the past 10 years than hockey. I was barely into it at all as a kid, and my interest was peaked from the early-to-mid-90's, but for over a decade I barely paid attention to it at all. I love the Blackhawks, but their prolonged suckiness really put my interest on the back burner, so I wouldn't say I love hockey. It's quite possible to be a half-assed fan of the sport, especially if you are in a city that doesn't have a team.

Let's see how well Canada fares against Switzerland in a couple of hours. That should give us a decent gauage of where we're at before the showdown on Sunday.

the gauge is broke..Canada is a superior team. USA will need great goal tending and some other breaks to beat Canada.

I dont care for NFL football even though it is widely popular. Not all sports are for everyone. I would suggest going to a hockey game though

haha the u.s. chick just completely choked on a draw and gave denmark 3 points when we had the hammer. our curlers are terrible.

That was an incredible failure. Incredible that she gave them 3 out of that. That one blunder clearly cost them the match.

Stupid Dutch.

They may still win right here, but I agree with the announcers on this.

The commentator rocks. He was absolutely disgusted with their decision. They opened the door wide open but then Deb had to pull a Shuster.

the thing that pisses me off is that our curlers seem to make really good shots when when there's no pressure, but when it's a really important shot - like one to win or tie, or one where you absolutely have to give up no more than one point - they crap the bed.

i'm of swedish descent, so i'm just going to bandwagon onto their curling teams for the rest of the olympics.
