Well Gretzky and the others did have earpieces, so they weren't hung out to dry. And he wasn't cold because it was 72 degrees inside.

I'm certain there was some confusion and a bit of panic going on behind the scenes there, though.

Definitely. Still, a very good opening ceremony. I love watching those.

The wall might help... But that padding isn't gonna do a damn thing.

I can't be the only one that likes speedskating. The finish in the 1500 was outstanding.

We watched all the 1500 action today, the house had a loud yell during the final

I especially liked that the Koreans knocked each other out as opposed to skaters from different countries getting tangled up.

Count me as one who was watching the 1500 final. Got to say after watching the interview with the 2 Americans after the race soul patch came off as kind of jerk IMO. I'm glad the other American got the bronze. He seems pretty humble and team oriented. What a way to comeback after needing 60 stitches.

For no real reason I always get mildly annoyed when I see the replay of Ohno getting taken out in 02, just because the Korean who fell into him seemed to stick his arm out to knock him down. I'm sure it was unintentional, but the Olympics are all about irrational homerism.

I don't know if anyone else is doing the Vancouver Pick Em game on ESPN but one of the picks for Monday is whether or not Switzerland will even score a goal against Canada in women's hockey.

I'm pretty sure it was intentional this would be why Ohno was awarded a gold medal in a later race for a Korean cross-tracking him.

Anyways the Ohno photo on ESPN where he is holding up his finger as if he is No. 1 despite getting silver (I assume its from tonight's race and not a previous Olympics where he got gold) is very dumb on Ohno's part. I've always laughed at it when I see an athlete do that. Sure be excited and go crazy but that is the one thing you shouldn't do.

It's for the total number of medals he's won (tied for the most by a U.S. competitor at the Winter Olympics) not for his finish tonight.

I'm not so much talking about ESPN's use of the photo but just that Ohno did it after winning silver. It may be a photo from when he won a gold though I didn't get to see the race tonight so I don't know if that is the suit he wore.

Did Slovakia show up?

Loving the biathlon today, couldn't imagine hitting a target that small breathing that hard. The women's mogul last night was great!!

This is turning out to be a fun Olympics

because an american won the women's mogul and the biathlon is the same thing as every other winter olympics?

More women's hockey insanity. Through two periods, U.S. leads China 8-0. But the shots are 43-4! The lack of talent outside of a few teams is silly.

Women's hockey is a joke for another reason though. If checking is a penalty, stop calling it hockey. [expletive] ridiculous.
