Little tidbit from Jeff Risdon at RealGM in his "25 Fearless Draft Predictions" article.

21. Just because the Chicago Bears don’t have any selections in the first two rounds, don’t think that Bears fans have no reason to watch said rounds. As proven the past couple of years, GM Jerry Angelo has no qualms about dealing future #1 picks to jump up and take a player he wants. Packaging Greg Olsen can get them a few spots higher than just a 1st as well. Two names to keep an eye on for Chicago in the 25-40 range: Morgan Burnett and Devin McCourty.

Give away the farm for Eric Berry. But has Jerry done that the last couple of years, or just for Cutler?

Yea, I thought it was an odd quote since Cutler was really the only example of dealing a first. They did give up a second for Gaines Adams though, so who knows.

Problem is.....to get Eric Berry you have to trade up into the top 6. Even with the value chart being outdated, can the Bears do this? Would a 3rd this yr, and a 1st/3rd in 2011 be enough to convince a team like Seattle to trade out of the spot? Because other then that, I don't see the Bears having enouogh to move up to get someone like Berry.

Why not make a big jump to get Taylor Mays?

Because you want a safety good at coverage?

I think Joseph is a smokescreen. Angelo/Smith needs a player who can play in 2010 and there is no guarantees that Joseph would play significant time in 2010. I still think they are trying to target either a CB (to move Peanut to FS) or a FS like Burnett.

Williams would be a good fit for the Colts. And strangely enough, I saw a mock today w/ Nate Allen falling to #64 to the Saints. If Allen (who had dinner w/ Lovie a few weeks ago, and is my favorite FS prospect in the draft) is there at 63, then what about a trade up w/ the Colts?

Bears get: #63 overall pick, Colts 3rd rounder

Colts get: Bears 3rd rounder, Bears 5th rounder, and Jamar Williams.

I don't know if that is fair or not, but the thought crossed my mind earlier today.

So whats everybodys thoughts on Major Wright?

Safety was a position of need and it sounds like he could step in and help right away so I like it. There was a huge run on CB before the Bears pick and also a couple of higher rated guards were taken right before that pick, otherwise it might have went differently. Given how things unfolded, I'm fine with the pick.

Who are we hoping the Bears will draft tomorrow?

If he's there, I'd take Bruce Campbell. It's hard to pass up on his upside. PLus, the OL prospects are few and far between at this point.

Other than that, I'm looking at CBs Dominique Franks and Akwasi Owusu-Ansah, and DEs Everson Griffen, Corey Wootten and Brandon Lang.

Bears pick 11th in the 4th....this would be my draft board going into tomorrow:

1. Campbell

2. Franks

3. Griffen

4. Owusu-Ansah

5. Wootten

6. Geno Atkins

7. Selvish Capers

8. Lang

9. Reshad Jones

10 Al Woods

11 Perish Cox

I'm really hoping for one of the first 4.

i really liked this kid's attitude and enthusiasm. his interview on espn radio was really [expletive] good, he sounds like he's got a good head on his shoulders and seems like a genuinely good guy.

i think he's going to work his ass off and excel at the next level. good pick.

I agree on Campbell. The Bears would have to be stupid to pass on a 1st rd talent in the fourth round in Campbell, but alas I could see any team picking in front of the Bears taking Campbell. Which means the Bears MIGHT have to trade up to get Campbell, Franks, or Griffen.

But a Williams/Campbell bookend tackles would be pretty sweet, if both are developed nicely.

He's a guy that many think will be a better player in the pros. If you think about it, Florida gave up 12 ppg, less than 10 in their first 12. They just put the #1 CB, 2 DEs, and a LB in the draft. Wright didn't have much of a chance to do anything because the front 7 and shutdown CB made all the plays. I'm not sold on Wright, but I don't see how he can't be fluid enough in pass coverage if he ran a 4.4ish 40. With what was on the board, it was probably the right pick.
