Didn't see this mentioned: ESPN bottom line says that the ND Athletic Director has said no bowl game for the Irish

This discussion has been beaten to death already (not just on this forum, I've had numerous discussions on numerous platforms), but this is a good move. It's a lot more important for the program to be getting ND's house in order rather than distract by playing a needless bowl game. And it probably gets UCLA into a bowl game (assuming Hawaii loses to Wisconsin), a team that not only is in a better position to focus on a minor bowl (i.e. has a coach) but also probably deserves a bowl bid over Notre Dame.

Marc Morehouse, the best connected sportswriter in Iowa said earlier this week that he felt there was a 30% chance Iowa went to the Fiesta, 60% to the Cap One and 10% to the Orange Bowl. He was fairly confident it would be PSU.

Today he says after talking to his people, he feels it's 90% to the Fiesta, 6% to the Orange and 4% to the Cap One.

This is all dependent upon Texas beating Nebraska. If not it would come down to Iowa/PSU over Boise which would be a bad deal.

3 championship games today, but two playing at the same time. Brilliant scheduling

There are actually 4 championship games today. I'm quite sure you didn't forget about the massive Houston/ECU Conference USA championship game, so it must have been one of the 3 more minor ones.

Lane Kiffin picked BAMA on Gameday. Huge shock there.

Lee Corso picked BAMA too. Yeah right. I think he just wanted to wear that dopey elephant head.

Yeah, earlier this week Lane made the comment that Florida has better players, but Bama has better coaches. He's enjoyed the opportunity to crack at Urban Meyer.

I don't know how to feel about that. Gut feeling that Lane Kiffin is picking against Florida moreso then picking Bama. I just think this was another jab from Kiffin to Mey

I'm rooting for all the underdogs today. Go Pitt, Bama, and Nebraska.

I'm torn on the Pitt/Cincy game. Otherwise, I'm the same - go Bama and Huskers. I really want to see a Bama/TCU BCS title game. I think that would be quite enjoyable.

Probably a bit, but I doubt he picks Bama if he doesn't think they have a good chance to win. Ingram's going to have to have a monster day for the Tide to win.

Two words: Trent Richardson. Watch out for this young man today.

Nebraska winning would mean only one Big Ten team or no Boise St. in a BCS bowl. Go Texas

I like Richardson, but Ingram's probably the better player right now - if he's not injured, that is.

this Pitt/Cincy game isn't surprising me at all

I don't know, I thought Pitt would win but I didn't think Wannstedt would be outcoaching Kelly this badly.

Cincy has given up a crap ton of points this year. Wannstedt is basically running it 90% of the time and saying "go ahead, stop us".
