Andy should be happy if Quinn is coming. The Browns offense is a mess. Funny thing is they have a better line than the Bears.

Hey, it only took 4 1/2 games of shitty football for Mangini to get it (read: ensure that Brady won't take 70 percent of the snaps to kick in his 11M incentives).

With Carolina in the tank, Brady's all I've got for NFL football this year. :)

Orlando Pace is toast. He can't play anymore. I'd love to see what this team could do with a legitimate O-line.

Yeah, he's done, the coaching staff has got to see this while reviewing the game films. Now will they have the nerve to bench him and expose Angelo' bad signing?

yeah, it's not working. I don't think they'll shift Williams to the other side this year though.

i didnt get to see the game but i listened on the radio during my drive. it sounded like cutler was getting absolutely murdered back there. for winning by 24, the team sure didnt do anything to instill confidence in my for the rest of the year

Cutler was getting destroyed. He took a helmet to the chin and bit his tongue pretty severely...and then was planted a few other times...guy really looked like he'd been through a war by the end.

He has to hate his line. I know I do.

You gotta think the O-line will be Angelo's priority going forward...you can't have your franchise QB, the one you just gave an extension to, getting killed on a regular basis back there. Not to mention Forte not being able to to run for a couple of yards for a TD in the red zone most of the time, because the line keeps getting pushed back rather than get an inch of penetration.

The problem is how do they upgrade it? Draft? You might be able to get a starter in the 3rd round but I doubt it. Free agency? If I recall correctly, the free agent pool of offensive lineman this offseason is pretty poor.

Well I definitely don't think we'll be trading picks for em...so yeah...it's gonna be tough, but I still think it's gonna be a priority.

I see Marcus McNeil (who'll be overpaid), Winston Justice and Logan Mankins.

Breaking down the Bears schedule a bit...

Assuming the home game against the Rams and road game against the Lions are victories, we'll probably have to win 4 of the 7 games listed below in order to make the playoffs (assuming 10-6 makes it):

ARI

@SF

PHI

@MIN

GB

@BAL

MIN

I'm going to go ahead and write down @MIN and @BAL as losses, which means we really need to win at least 2 of the next 3. If we're going for the WC we should really hope the Vikings keep winning. If they do, they may not have much to play for in Week 16. The home game against Philly might be the biggest game on our schedule, as both teams could be battling for a WC, with the winner holding the tiebreaker. Oh and it helps if the Saints beat Atlanta tomorrow night.

Yeah I've been looking at the schedule, and what other teams are doing, and the conclusion I'm coming to is that the Bears making the playoffs this year would be surprising. Even if they start playing better.

I think it was actually beneficial that the Pack lost today though. We need to be in 2nd place--both WC teams aren't coming from the North.

I agree, the odds are definitely against us. This team is going to have to improve on offense to even have a chance. Although I would like another WR, I'm starting to think we have enough weapons on offense to be a playoff team. What we don't have is the O-Line opening holes for Forte or giving Cutler time to throw.

The Bears are just 1 game back of Philly/Dallas and 1/2 a game back of the Giants for a wildcard spot, but they can't afford to lose any gimme's....

Funny...I just realized that technically the Bears still control their destiny in the NFC North.

Really? Do tell.

The Bears are 4-3, the Vikings are 7-1. The Bears still have 2 games left against the Vikings. If the Bears win the rest of their games, and the Vikings win the rest of their non-Bears games, they will both finish 13-3, with the Bears having the tie-breaker. Included in winning the rest of the games is a win over Green Bay, giving the Bears a better record than the Packers.

Edit: Or more simply put, what Raisin says below.

The Bears are 2.5 back of the Vikings having played 1 fewer game than the Vikings with 2 remaining games against the Vikings on the schedule.

Yes, but can you really see the Bears beating the Vikings...

That's not what was being said. It's strictly a numbers analysis of possibilities...I could also win a million dollars tomorrow, but I wouldn't start begging me for a loan just yet.

OK.

Brad Biggs was on the radio this morning, and he was just dumbfounded at the number of times that Greg Olsen is lining up as fullback.

I don't think Ron Turner knows how to use his tight ends.

Cutler can't keep taking those kinds of hits all the time. I think the coaches at least acknowledged that.

But Lovie said something to the effect of "oh well, sometimes it just happens." Those weren't his exact words, but I couldn't help but think: no, against the Browns? Not against THEM, it shouldn't happen.

Maybe you just have "one of those days" against the Vikings, or some good team that can really bring it.

Having that kind of day against the Browns is going to put Cutler on the IR, because if they can't block that team, think of what will happen when Allen is dialing up against you, or one of the other much better pass rushers we will have to face.

I'm pretty concerned about this team against the Vikes. They'll stuff our run for sure, maybe even for negative net yardage. Then the Bears will respond by trying to throw 50 times, and you know what will happen when they try that.
