that was a terrible ending to what could have been a great game

This. Why would you try to go to second with the ball in that spot?

No kidding, the runner on second was meaningless in that situation and there was no way you were turning 2. Heck I bet the clowns on baseball tonight could even figure that out.

I will be honest, I thought the game was rather boring, not sure how it is gettting tagged as a great game.

I swear I never wanted a non-Cub player to hit a HR as much as I wanted to see Vlad go yard there. He's been struggling all year, all postseason for the most part. They talked about moving him down in the lineup or out of it altogether. Angels down 3-1 with a runner on and 2 outs in the 6th, down 2-0 in the series. I sat there hoping through the entire at bat that Vlad would knock one out, and he did...awesome moment.

Wow Abreu. Leads off the 8th with at least a double, maybe a triple in a tie game. Stops dead in his tracks between 2nd and 3rd and gets thrown out trying to go back to 2nd. Wow

It's gotta be really tough for McCarver to talk with Jeter's herpes ridden [expletive] in his mouth.

McCarver is such a Yankees homer it's pathetic.

I think it was Johnny Damon who hit a Grand Slam in Game 6 or Game 7 of the 2004 ALCS.. the one where the Yankees were up 3-0 and imploded. It very audibly clanged off the foul poul. McCarver was silent until about the 2nd replay where he said "That's the worst sound I've ever heard."

has any team ever gone 11-0?

I don't believe so. The White Sox went 11-1 in 2005, though.

The 1976 Reds went undefeated back when only 7 wins were needed to win it all (7-0)

The 1999 Yankees also went 11-1 in the playoffs

It would be nice if the Yankees would lose one of these close games.

Also, I'm tired of the playoff commercials. Black-eyed Peas and those stupid Blackberry commercials are getting really old.
