In all honesty, the Big Ten isn't a great conference, not like it has been in the past and the teams in the conference have played some awful games but I've been telling and asking myself this. All the other BCS conferences have looked flawed too. The Big East looks bad, like always, the ACC looks awful as well. Outside of USC the Pac 10 doesn't look that impressive, and they don't look as good as they have in the past. The SEC doesn't look amazing outside of Florida and the Big 12 looked overrated as hell today. Are any of the BCS conferences elite this year, or are we seeing the gap between the non-BCS teams and the BCS teams getting closer.

People criticize the Big Ten all the time (including myself) but maybe all the BCS teams themselves (except a couple of teams) just aren't that great.

It looks like a weak year for college football, in general. Every conference has some sort of question mark in the early going.

The Big Ten has been ripped for their 'performances' the last two weeks but the ACC should be garnering the brunt of the blows from the talking heads. That conference has had some serious issues so far.

Bowling Green probably has a better defense than Illinois. Trust me when I say Illinois' defense is atrocious. They have a horrid secondary and they can't get a pass rush with their front four. That combination rarely mixes.

Tonight's game was like watching nerds beat up theater geeks.

I really can't stand being a Notre Dame fan sometimes.

BSU lost to New Hampshire, too. Nice hire to promote Parrish, guys. 0-3 with three embarrassing losses as coach (bowl blowout, North Texas, I-AA school).

Blaine Gabbert was horrible tonight. His numbers won't show it, but he made some awful decisions and held onto the ball way too long.

not that Blaine didn't suck, but the WRs were [expletive] miserable. there were multiple plays where they ran into each other on routes, and they made no effort to get open. they'd run their route and just stop there. the o-line wasn't doing much blocking, but when they did blaine had happy feet and he'd move out of the pocket when he still had plenty of time in there.

glad everything started clicking in the second half. shouldnt have much trouble with furman next week, so hopefully we get our [expletive] together for our first road game in two weeks.

Purdue is looking good against Oregon. Not great but better than I expected coming into the season. Also Boldin looks like the real deal.

Shouldn't have opened my mouth. Right after I posted Purdue loses a fumble for a TD and then quickly punts and allows Oregon to drive down and score again.

I love weekends where you can spend every waking minute watching football. God bless America.

Nothing beats football. College Saturday's and NFL Sunday's are amazing.

Yep, I've pretty much watched football since 11 this morning.

I got up at two and haven't moved except to grab a coke or snack.

I'll admit I thought Purdue would get destroyed tonight but they have held their own.

I got up at 10:30am, bought a 30 pack of beer and the rest is.....sweet, sweet history. Great day of football. From the IU-WMU game to ND-Michigan to USC-OSU and now Purdue-Oregon. All close games.

I was periodically zonking out during the USC/Ohio State game, but I've pretty much done nothing but watch football since waking up this morning.

I napped a bit during the ND-Michigan game only because I got a bit too tanked during the IU game.

I was too mortified to drink during the Wisconsin game. Afterwards, I cracked open a few.

Oh well, today showed what I expected Tennessee to be before the season started. Crompton was ok at times but struggled at others and the offensive line was up and down. I thought we'd run the ball better than we did, but UCLA has a very solid defense.

The crowd was fantastic throughout the game. It was utterly deafening on the field and it seemed to get to Prince and the Bruin offense some early. To their credit, though, they overcame the crowd and made the plays when they needed to be made. Tennessee's defense looked really good throughout the game as well.

Looks like this year's team is basically the same as last year's team - great defense, poor offense. The defense will likely do its best to slow down Florida next week, but it likely won't be close.

Congrats Raisin. It was a well-earned win.

Hopefully the 49ers win tomorrow so one of my teams get a win. At least Boldin looked good and Elliot looks at least capable of doing something when he needs to. Boldin has 419 total yards and 5 TD's in two games FWIW.

Purdue also looks like a team that should go bowling which is all I hoped for coming into the season.
