Why wouldnt you have used Hoff right there?

 

Because I would have used Jake Fox, back up catcher or not. You want your best guy at the plate there.

 

 

With the lefty warming you put Hoffpauir out there, and if they go to the lefty you go with Fox if not you stick with the favorable match up

Hoff is still the right call against the RH Harang.

A) He's the back up catcher, why burn him especially when:

B) Hoff the lefty was the right decision there

 

It's easy in hindsight to criticize a decision, but Lou did the right thing there.

That is staggering. If our offense could simply be league average, how god would we be?

we could really use a real LH bat off the bench though... hoffpauir has been brutal the last 2 months. that's a spare part that hendry should be looking for, a matt stairs type.
