Awesome. You actually have a decent chance of grabbing some longballs when Pujols is at the plate.

Pena leads the AL in HR with 24, Cruz is second with 22. Inge is third with 21. Mauer has 15. Why do you say its a sub par group? If anything Mauer is the one out of the group who is subpar.

Im hoping Pujols hits about 50 long home runs, and completely fucks up his swing for the entire 2nd half.

I heard he has the ability to put on quite a show in BP, so it may be a pretty good pick. I've heard a couple guys on the radio down here talking about him as a sleeper to win the thing.

 

I will be there tonight. Seats are in Section 449, but we're taking my wheel chair bound brother in law and I'm going to try to guilt them into giving us something better.

Winner gets tickets to the 2010 All-Star Game.

 

Basically, you pick the order of finish for each round, the # of overall HRs hit in the first round, and the # of overall HRs hit in the entire competition.

It's mainly been because of his SLG%, but Soto has a higher OPS since 1 JUN than Mauer. Mauer still has great numbers, but he's been just alright since the May. His first month he was over 1.300 OPS and since he's posted .897(Jun) and .829(Jul, sample size). He has had an OBP above .400 every month, his power just disappeared.

You might be right. I haven't really kept up with much AL baseball this year so I didn't even notice he's at 21 HR right now. He's only averaged 16 HR a year over the past 5 years and he just doesn't look too intimidating up there.

He has a pretty extreme uppercut/flyball swing a la Kahlil Greene IIRC. Also similar to Kahlil, his career OBP is pretty atrocious and has kept his PAs a little limited the last few years.

BTW whoever said the AL's lineup is bad with the exception of Mauer somehow forgot about Carlos Pena. He'll put on a show tonight, book it.
