For anyone who wants to get a kick out of Milwaukee fans going at each other's throats: http://brewersfandemonium.yuku.com/topic/19520

The early consensus was that Braun's comments were out of line, but then the village idiots come out with the "WELL HE WAS RIGHT!!!11!" posts. After awhile, the more sensible posters seemed to give up, and the past few pages are just ugly. I'd imagine things wouldn't be so heated if the Cubs didn't take 3 of 4 over the weekend, so you guys can smile a bit about the Cubs turning Brewerfan into a nuclear war zone, too.

LOL.

Well, don't worry. When the Crew takes 3/4 from the Cubs it tends to turn the Cubs boards into a war zone, too.

Braun's statement this afternoon before going out for BP, apparently spoken without any paper in front of him:

"Doug and I met this afternoon as soon as I got to the ballpark. We had a good discussion. I think both of us now have a clear understanding of where each other's coming from. It's derived from being competitive. Everybody wants to win. That's the reality of it.

"It's not going to jeopardize my relationship with him. It's not going to jeopardize my relationship with the organization. I know they're trying their best to do their job. They always have, they always will. It's basically a misunderstanding. I feel like my comments were kind of taken out of context a little bit, blown out of proportion. I was a little bit surprise that it became the story that it has. But with that being said, I take full responsibility for everything that I say, for all of my actions. At times I'm emotional, I'm passionate. It's derived from just wanting to win, but I definitely take full responsibility for that.

"With that being said, Me and Doug are cool. Everything's good. I have no issues with anybody. I apologized if I offended anybody in the organization. That clearly wasn't my intent. I wasn't trying to disrespect anybody, wasn't trying to call anybody out. It wasn't a conversation that I initiated. I was just basically responding to a question. I try when I'm dealing with the media to be honest and sometimes I'm honest to a fault. It gets me in trouble. I recognize that. It's a strength and a weakness. It's something that I need to be more aware of at times.

"We'll move forward. Hopefully it's something I'll learn from. It's definitely something I'll learn from, and we'll move on."

Meh. I was wondering how long it would take him to bust out the "IT WAS OUT OF CONTEXT~!!" line.

I don't think he even understands what "out of context" means.

Honesty and douchebaggery are not synonomous.

There must be a handbook in every PR person's desk, where it states in bold, italicized, and underlined text:

"If your guy says something stupid, It was taken out of context."

LOL... when doing a wrap-up on PTI, Dan Lebatard just said that Braun's nickname should be "the He-brewer"

lol cause he's jewish.

Ehh, now I feel like a tool... It struck me as funny when Lebatard said it, maybe b/c of the way he delivered it...but seeing it in my post doesn't seem as funny. My Jewish sister-in-law was watching with me, and she laughed too if that's any kind of excuse.

I actually did like what he said about Fielder reacting the way that he did to being hit. Mentioned how its just a part of the game, and to him its a sign of respect being hit, and should just take your base.

He is still a douche though.

ugh, he's right. he really is. don't get me wrong, I'm not a fan of braun like anyone else here. but he's right.

every day I look at box scores and wonder how the brewers keep managing to lose. know how? macha having zero control over the team, and crappy pitching.

he's just frustrated. and he has the numbers to mostly back it up, too.

"My intent's never to disrespect anybody, never to show anybody up."

But Braun wasn't done. He let Dempster know about it all the way around the bases.

IT'S IN THE SAME [expletive] ARTICLE

What does it matter if Dempster "gave him something to take issue with?" Braun said that he never intends to disrespect other players. That includes when he feels other players disrespect him. Otherwise, he is not true to his word.

A foul ball?

(I know, he threw inside.)

Does anyone frequent any solid Brewers web-boards? I'd be curious to know if anyone defends Braun. The guy puts up great numbers, but even before this, I gotta think he'd be in the public opinion as one of the 5 worst sportsmen in the league (other than PED dramama stuff).

I used to read one, but it was so boring I had to give it up. I don't remember anything negative about ANY Brewers player being discussed.
