I dont know if Im forgetting someone, but if the season ends today, are Randy Wells and Casey McGehee the top 2 contenders for NL ROY?

According to a handful of Cardinal fans I talked to a day or two ago Rasmus has it wrapped up and no one is even close.

Pablo Sandoval in SF might have something to say about this (he had 145 AB last year, but most were after Sept 1, so I think he still qualifies).

I actually liked how Gregg pitched tonight, especially the AB where he kept on pumping fastballs up there with a 2 run lead.

Marmol put together a nice performance too, this is 5 outings in a row looking good. He walked a guy today but his stuff is looking electric again. A lot of other good things happened in tonights game too, good W.

Gregg has looked decent for the most part, but I always have an irrational fear when it comes to white relievers. I dont know what it is.

I believe due to having fewer than 45 service days prior to September 1 of last year, he still qualifies as a rookie.

MLB.com[/url]"]Determining rookie status:

A player shall be considered a rookie unless, during a previous season or seasons, he has (a) exceeded 130 at-bats or 50 innings pitched in the Major Leagues; or (b) accumulated more than 45 days on the active roster of a Major League club or clubs during the period of 25-player limit (excluding time in the military service and time on the disabled list).

Sounds like he's no longer a rookie. Of course, like Edinson Volquez last year, I'm sure a number of voters won't bother looking these things up and will vote for him anyway.

Well we gained a game on SOMEONE in our division... we'll just have to find out who tomorrow... and if we win tomorrow, more power to us.

Huh? We gained a full game on Cincinnati and Pittsburgh, a half-game on Milwaukee and St. Louis and nothing on Houston.

Sorry... meant the important teams... St. Louis and Milwaukee... ONE of them has to lose tomorrow. Should have clarified.

And if the Cubs lose, then they only game a half-game on the loser of that game and lose a half-game on the other team.

The Cubs didn't gain a game on either of those two teams simply by winning today.
