Why is Fuld not playing again?

Because they've already invested $18 million a year for the next 5 seasons on a left fielder.

Shut up, fools in the crowd.

You talking bout the booing of Sori?

No, the cheering of Theriot's hit even though it was obvious it was going to be right at Cameron.

I'm talking about the roar because Theriot hit a ball in the air to shallow center.

Quade should have sent Fontenot on the Z base hit.

Yeah the inning would have ended much quicker that way.

Well obviously with the way we are with RISP we would have had a better chance of a bad throw home.

yea cause they are hurting sorianos feelings.

Everyone should be pooping rainbows when Soriano comes to the plate.

Im starting to get really concerned about Soriano. He has to turn it around eventually right?

At this point its gone beyond a slump. It might just be a super long confidence draining slump that might take an offseason of recovery to get over. He might snap out of it tomorrow. Who knows. I don't think it's eroding skills though unless he's 3+ years older than he says he is.

Lou Piniella had several possible lineup combinations scribbled on paper all over his desk Friday. In the end, he put Alfonso Soriano back in the leadoff spot vs. the Brewers despite rookie Sam Fuld's back to back two-hit games batting first.

"Yeah, I thought about it all night," Piniella said. "We need for Alfonso to start swinging the bat. I have all the confidence in the world with him. He's back out there in the leadoff spot and hopefully he gives us a spark."

Soriano, who was batting .179 in his last 35 games, could've been dropped in the order. Piniella did consider that option.

"He hasn't played for a couple days," Piniella said of Soriano, who has been working with hitting coach Von Joshua. "Let's put him in the spot he's familiar with and let's see if we can get him hot. ... Today's he's in the leadoff spot and in left field where he's familiar. Let's hope he swings the bat -- we want him to swing the bat."

True, but I think Cameron has a pretty good arm. Conventional baseball logic suggests that if there is still only 1 out and your leadoff hitter is up you should hold the runner. But then when you realize that Soriano is up, and the Cubs suck at situational hitting this year I can see your point.

Idk, hes not even limping like he was earlier. Not saying that means hes not, but it was alot more obvious earlier.
