After Zambrano hit Wise Steve Stone was like "that's the reason Carlos Zambrano has never won more than 14 games." Uhh....

Except that he's won more than 14 games 3 different times. Never mind the fact that hitting Wise would have absolutely nothing to do with him not winning 14 games. What an idiotic booth the White Sox have. A whining, hillbilly moron and an arrogant, bitter know-it-all. I don't know how Sox fans can deal with them. Well, maybe I do.

Once he said "has never won more than 14 games" any other analysis seems pointless.

The man apparently doesn't think knowing facts are important in his line of work.

from rogers' "give zambrano away" column...

Sox manager Ozzie Guillen played Zambrano like a Stradivarius after Podsednik was hit.

He let Zambrano throw repeatedly to first, holding Podsednik close, and never gave him the steal sign. He hoped a distracted Zambrano would hang a pitch to Alexei Ramirez or Jermaine Dye, and that's exactly what Zambrano did, with Ramirez drilling a two-run homer on a 1-2 pitch.

just like guillen planned it!

Guillen let Zambrano throw to first? Is there another option? Like telling the ump you will no longer allow that to happen?

he tricked him into doing it. duh.

in the battle for worst column, the suntimes guy isn't backing down...

The Sox have crafty, agile, young players like Ramirez, Getz and Gordon Beckham who seem to have a knack for doing the little things in a fashion that can be maddeningly destructive to foes.

getz has crafted his way to a 62 OPS+, beckham 54, ramirez 85.

crafty!

Consider kid Beckham.

Playing at a new position, third base, the rookie from Georgia struggles at times but already has shown amazing baseball sense.

In the fourth inning, he spanked two near-hits foul down the left-field line, then went with an outside pitch and singled to right.

you hear that? two near hits. color me impressed.

The baseball writing in this town is downright pathetic. Phil Rogers is just a complete buffoon. As Abuck said, they are all writing about the gritty Getz and The young Beckham, and how Ozzie got into Z's head. It's junior high writing. A game was played and the Sox won it. It's not because Guillen is some kind of mind reader or Chris Getz is some gritty young ballplayer. It's because the Cubs didn't score and the Sox did. Of course, I wouldn't expect anything less from the idiots that write in this town.

Rogers is so bad I don't even blame him anymore. I blame whoever it is who lets that junk out the door.

**BLASPHEMOUS STATEMENT ALERT**

i kind of like him.

he just likes getting cubs fans all worked up, and you all fall for it so easy. if i was a sox fan, i would love him for the crazy stuff he says about wrigley and cubs fans. if our manager said similar comments about sox fans and say, facial tatoos and crystal methamphetamine, we would adore him similarly. and honestly, i don't think he's a bad manager. he certainly isn't great, but he's far from bad... sort of like lou. the only thing i don't like about ozzie is the offensive & ignorant non-baseball related stuff, which is far worse than making fun of the cubs.

Along with his near non-errors at 3B, he really is the total package!

I like him a little, jsut for the entertainment value. I wouldn't want him as my manager...though like you, I think there's worse managers out there.

I don't understand finding entertainment in having your team's manager act like a total ass at all times and repeat childish insults about other fans bases. I mean, I wouldn't find it entertaining if Lou criticized Milwaukee or Stl.

He's a crap manager who gets all sorts of nonsensical praise for making things happen all because he managed the Sox in a season when their starting pitchers were healthy and at their best and their hitters nailed a bunch of big homeruns. They haven't done crap since then but it doesn't matter because he knows how baseball is supposed to be played, and he swears a lot.

This should be posted on the faces of every Sox fan and every dumbass baseball reporter in this town and in the country. I couldn't have said it better.

Honestly, the Sox have a massive little-brother syndrome. They're always whining and crying and talking trash about the Cubs. I love that you never hear any Cub player talking about the White Sox. They just don't care enough to worry about little bro.

He also had the amazing baseball sense to make about 20 errors in this last series and mess up about 10 more makeable plays.

i can't really disagree with your post. ozzie IS a huge ass, but what's so bad about that?

i love the cubs-white sox rivalry. i'm from joliet, and my friends growing up have always been split 50/50 between the cubs and sox. i love the quickly escalating arguments about who's better, i love the ####-talking, and most of all, i love hating the white sox. if ozzie wants to incite things further, let him. ozzie is an interesting character in this child's game we all take so seriously, and i don't see anything inherently harmful in that. he genuinely hates the cubs, so if he wants to rant unintelligibly about us, it just makes things that much more fun. i appreciate professionalism as well, but ozzie never criticizes the cubs as a team -- he actually defends us quite often, as he did earlier this year. he just rags on wrigley and the fans. that's not necessarily classy, but to me, that's not that big of a deal. ultimately, i understand if people hate his guts.
