Ascanio walks the .219 hitter to let the .190 hitter beat them

But Lou did go with the righty vs. righty %

I, for one, would love to see baseball get rid of Interleague.

If they got rid of this stupid team I would enjoy this game more.

Even though we lost that wad a fun backand forth game to follow. Classic Cubs-Sox battle.

Things are a lot easier to accept and enjoy when you realize it's two mediocre .500 teams battling it out for city bragging rights. The Cubs can still turn it around but as it stands right now the Cubs are about a .500 team and have been playing like it basically all season.

What I don't get is why Lou can't let a former starter finish that inning off before using a guy who started the year in the minor leagues. [expletive].

I don't have an issue with Ascanio pitching in important spots. I woulda pitched him in the 8th. The issue is he burnt the former starter for 2/3 of an inning for a game that at best was going to extras.

Lou's usage of Marshall is perplexing.

Ascanio threw a crappy first pitch fastball to a guy that's been in the majors for like 3 weeks and he knocked the [expletive] out of it to score the winning run from 2nd; why in that situation would you not start the kid out with something off speed? You would have to think he MIGHT be a little overanxious

Brian Wilson blows it for the Giants. Its sad that I'm prepared to root for the Cardinals shall we fall out of the division race.

Ugh, no thanks. I'll happily watch the Brewers win the division any day over the Cardinals.

No use crying over this game when we knew that nobody in the pen is capable of holding on to a 1 run lead, with the possible exception of Marshall, and unfortunately, Lou, who has no idea how to manage a bullpen doesnt know how to use him either. Too bad the Cards, Reds, and Brewers all won.

Ug no thank to your suggestion Mojo. I will quietly sit in the corner until the football season starts, if the Cubs don't pull their collective heads out of their butts.

Part of the perks of being an intern at Fox came in handy today as I sat in the press box and made my way to the field in the 8th inning and saw the rest of the game from the camera well behind 1st base. Then I was able to go into the Cubs clubhouse afterwords, which unfortunately was after a loss. I'll save everyone boring stories by saying it was an awesome experience and getting paid to do something like that would be surreal.

Then I heard the DeRosa news and that was a complete buzzkill. Ugh.
