I hope Hendry and Lou are happy with this bullpen they've put together. Great job running off Eyre and Wuertz you douchebags.

Oh, and Milton Bradley sucks. At this point, I hope he's out for the year so his 2011 option doesn't vest.

Why are we wishing bad things on Bradley? Did he contribute to tonight's abomination? Milton has been hitting very well lately and losing him now definitely hurts the team.

This game was ridiculous - All you can do is laugh. It's not worth getting upset over. Just marvel at the stupidity and you'll sleep better.

eyre is/was bad.

His World Series ring is in his ear so he can't hear you

that's nice, adam eaton got one too, maybe we should have traded for him.

Another package for Hendry that's gift wrapped with a nice big bow on it. Kevin Gregg, the gift that just keeps on giving.......

up runs.

Oh how proud you must be, Jim.

Ummm...just out of curiosity...doesn't that probability of scoring runs with a man on first and no outs also include instances where the runner is then sacrificed to second? I mean, that table is runs scored through the end of the inning, not on that at bat, so those probabilities can't be compared because they don't isolate innings where the leadoff hitter reaches first but ISN'T sacrified.

Very good observation-- should have noticed that myself.

I think it's time we get rid of Heilman and bring up Hart.

I dont know how it translates to the bigs, but Hart has been great as a starter in Iowa, but was brutal out of the pen. Maybe we can trade him for something though. At this point, Id be for giving Stevens a shot though.

Not a whole lot of plate discipline on display tonight..........

Sadly Kerry Wood's year has not been anything to write home about, so I don't see how you can guarantee different results.

This team, as currently constructed, will not make the playoffs and might not finish over .500. Something must change.

Team looks more like a seller than a buyer.

How so? Have we given them a chance to play with the entire team there? Also, who the heck could we sell? Lilly is the only player I can think of, and Hendry would find a way to get nothing of value from the trade.

The team is fine, we have a lot of issues but we still have enough talent to compete all year.

After DLee's HR in the 8th the Cubs had a 98% of winning this game...

I guess I'm glad I had somewhere to be tonight, so I missed the last 2 innings (or 5 if you count the extra innings). I came back tonight very confident that we had won the game. How could we lose when we were up 4 in the 8th. No way. I obviously didn't factor in the bullpen effect.

I went to sleep after the 2nd inning of last night's game knowing the Cubs were up 2-0. When I woke up about 3 this morning and found it the result of the game, you could colour me unsurprised.

Sure, just ignore the Eyre stats that I posted. But, you're right, Piniella is God and Hendry should have gotten rid of Eyre last year.

Even if we didnt trade Eyre last year, its more than doubfull that we re sign him this year, so its a moot point.

I just got back and was looking to see who the runs were attributed to and noticed your numbers in that column are off. I'm assuming the sixth run should be credited to Heilman.
