I feel sad watching Wood in Cleveland. He's had a rough go of it.

Tonight he blew another game... this time blowing a 3 run lead by giving up 4. Went like this-

Ground out

HR

HR

Walk

Triple

Sac Fly

his babip is unusually high and his HR rate is high as well, although last year it was unusually low. his stuff still looks really good; his walks are up so maybe he's just missing his spots more this season.

Eh, it should had not come down to that, since IMHO, there was no reason to pull Cliff Lee, since he was just practically owning the Royals. But for some reasons, unknown to me, Eric Wedge decides to pull him and put in Kerry.

IMHO, Lee should had finished out the game. I know he's at 101 pitches, but it's not that bad.

In all though, sucks for Kerry, but great win by the Royals.

The cleveland fans (I was in Ohio last week) complained that he has four days off then is put in for with a 4-8 run lead, and when he is rally needed for a save situation he is a bit stale. Just what the pundents said on Cleveland radio

The thought that came to my mind when my roommate brought this up last night is that he's depressed and not enjoying the game anymore because he, for the first time ever, isn't with the Cubs. He is probably struggling to adjust.

I doubt that.

Yep, only this years Brewers have that kind of relationship with each other. BEST TEAM EVAHHH!!!!!!

But yeah, I don't think this is it either. I hope he isn't hurt.

Yeah I saw that game yesterday. Poor guy, what a meltdown. His ERA went up over 8 after that.

Superstitiously, it Looks like the goatee is gone after last night's disaster but the shave hasn't helped. He's fallen behind every hitter tonight and just walked the bases loaded.

Almost blew another one tonight. Walked the bases loaded to put the tying run at 3rd with 1 out but then struck the next 2 out.

He looked really weird without the goatee. It reminded me of the 20 K game.

You are taking pleasure in Wood's struggles...why?

I'm not taking pleasure in it. The sig is a reminder that we aren't missing anything in Wood right now

You have no idea how he's be performing if he was with us. His stuff has been fine.

You're right, I don't, so let's not pretend that he'd be better than Gregg. We don't know if he'd be better than worse. It's a false premise

Umm Wood is a much better pitcher than Gregg. Even at his worst, Wood's peripherals are better than Gregg.

actually, they aren't. At least not this year.

Pretty small sample size though, when there's much more than this year available for comparison.
