well if rumors are true about Carter nailing Hartnell's wife that team might not get their act together until people are moved, you have to think

apparently that's a trend among the flyers. there were rumors, and they were basically confirmed by a friend whose husband works within the organization, that eric lindros banged rod brind'amour's wife.

Panthers called up Steve McIntyre and Mike Duco for tonight's game with the Flyers. have to think Richards is going to end up in a fight or two for the Booth hit

yep, but it was mccabe that fought him. duco got in a fight and mcintyre has skated around the ice a couple of times.

at this point i don't even know what should be done with the flyers. they fired a bad coach and that hasn't worked. the roster is very talented with the exception of the goalie; boucher isn't playing well but they're losing a lot of games while scoring no goals or one goal. they have a lot of long-term contracts to guys who are still supposed to be good (richards, carter, hartnell, gagne, pronger, timonen).

i guess at this point i wouldn't be against trading carter since he would bring a good return. hartnell is overpaid and we wouldn't get that much for him.

i wonder if the flyers and bruins could possibly work something out involving carter and tuukka rask. maybe something like carter and braydon coburn for rask, marco sturm and andrew ference? just sort of thinking out loud here and trying to make salaries match up fairly well.

i don't really know enough of how well Carter might transition to a wing spot, but Boston's got enough dynamic Cs, what they really need most is a goal scoring W (like Kessel)

carter has played right wing in the past.

mostly i'd just love to get tuukka rask; we've needed a franchise goalie for 20 years now and i think he will be one.

carter was likely to make team canada after last year, but he hasn't been that great this year.

i know mike green has some issues with defensive reliability, but i figured he would make it. also jay bouwmeester, who by all accounts has been very good this season and last. not sure who i would've left off on defense though; canada is just loaded there. i also probably would have put martin st louis, carter or shane doan on ahead of patrice bergeron.

After the (Rangers-Stars) game last night, Stan Fischler asked Sean Avery what his favorite part about the game was. Avery responded, “getting paid by both teams.”

Awesome.

Pissed at the Blues. Their inconsistency is killing their playoff chances, and last night they couldn't even help the Hawks by keeping SJ from a few points. Losers.

nice win by the flyers at pittsburgh last night. leighton hasn't been too bad and emery is getting back soon, and it looks like the team is starting to buy into laviolette's system of not playing like idiots, which was in direct contrast to stevens.

next several games are easy: vs tampa, vs dallas, @toronto, @washington, vs columbus, vs ny rangers, vs carolina, vs pittsburgh, vs atlanta, vs ny islanders. only two good teams (wash, pitt) and a lot of pretty bad ones, plus a lot of home games.

I saw parts of the Atlanta game on NHL network last night and oh man was that an empty building. Ouch.

That says one of two things to me: 1. It tells me people in Atlanta are fully convinced that the Thrashers are going to trade Kovy and they want no part of it or 2. They just don't give a damn about hockey in Atlanta. This is the second franchise that Atlanta won't support in hockey. At this point, the NHL has two teams they REALLY do need to relocated; Phoenix and Atlanta. I just don't know why Bettemen is fighting against putting one of two more teams back in a country that lives in breathes hockey.

Probably because Canada has had its own problems keeping franchises, as it was the move away from those smaller cities that couldn't compete that started the process of going south in the first place. A couple years ago people feared for the future of Edmonton. It's not a no-brainer.

Suffice to say, IMO Phx and Atlanta are not long-term viable options to support NHL teams.
