Sickels postseason top 75 is out. Javy at 8, Bryant at 19, Almora at 22, Soler at 27, CJ at 41, and Alcantara at 70, with Pierce as an HM.

Vogelbach was also an HM.

Nice to see 6 Cubs int he top 75, with 5 of them being in the top 41. Granted they won't all pan out, but you have to like the odds that at least a few of them will. Also, great to see the Edwards love.

Yeah, and with two honorable mentions in a top 75, that pretty much means 8 top 100s.

Nah, there's probably 40-50 HM's. plus he said Vogelbach would be low 100's.

Fine, 7.

[expletive] it, all our top 4 are panning out, this is gonna be great

Yep!!!

Holy [expletive], an outfield of Bryant, Almora, and Soler. Please proceed directly to my pants.

I'd rather have an infield of Bryant, Castro, Baez & Rizzo.

what would be the most likely scenario for the big 4? 1 star, 1 starter, 1 bench player, and 1 bust? 2 stars and 2 busts? i have no idea what to realistically expect

No, Olt becomes a .260/.350/.470 guy and wins multiple GGs, Castro, Baez, Vogelbach.

Vogelbach is not supplanting Rizzo and Olt is not good.

Even though they havent fully established themselves yet, I'd settle for Wil Myers, Moustakas, Gordon, and Hosmer......with our guys having more power across the board.

they all make it and have Tony Batista, Pat Burrell, Randy Winn, Juan Encarnacion careers

Adjusting for era, that would be disappointing.

Shh. Don't mess with the fantasy man. We know about reality, why do you have to spoil the fantasy?

Because the fantasy with Rizzo and Bryant (as a 3B) panning out is better.

I just don't know why you'd rather dream on Vogelbach panning out than Rizzo. A fully realized Rizzo is a much better player.

I'd prefer elite-level defense in my fantasy. And a fat first baseman that hits the ball into outer space.

You prefer elite defense yet somehow want Vogelbach over Rizzo?

I know we're scarred with Brett's K's, but I honestly expect Olt to win the 3B job next spring and play well enough that we'd be fine, without anyone else pushing him out.

That would be really, really nice.

If you sort of zoom in and focus on all the "ifs" we need individually, they all seem so reasonable.

If all those lives arms can turn into a good bullpen.

If Samardzija and Jackson can be who they should be, and Wood doesn't regress too much.

If Castro stops being heroin-injection-worthy.

If Olt can win the 3b job.

If Baez comes up mid-season and rakes

If Rizzo takes a step forward

If Castillo's season can repeat itself

If we can add a major piece this offseason

You just have to think about how reasonable each one is individually and not how unlikely they are taken together.

Add Tanaka and CarGo, no other moves, and 90 wins doesn't seem impossible to me.
