NHL W. Conference Finals: Red Wings defeat Blackhawks 4-1

Afternoon playoff games are so stupid. And we have to deal with two of them... so dumb.

 

I'm not trying to be rude: but will there ever be a point where you won't b*tch and moan about the date/time of the Blackhawk playoff games?

 

Likely not, I take my Blackhawks seriously.

 

Just be happy they're this far.

 

If they wanted to play at 3am in Rockford: I'd be happy with it.

Imagine if Cubs fans hated the Cardinals so much that they just started chanting "Cardinals suck" at random times in games against the Brewers or Dodgers or Nationals.

 

In the final two minutes of them clinching a berth in the National League Championship.

Haven't been this excited for a Chicago sporting event since the Superbowl... then before that was the Cubs/Marlins series in '03.

 

So awesome seeing half page Hawks pictures daily on the cover of the Sports page in the Chicago Tribune.

 

I can't imagine how many hockey fans we'd get if they beat Detroit and advance to the Finals.

 

We would have home ice in the Finals against either team, correct?

More times than not in the open ice that's how he has it. I think the picture is pretty cool.

This is easily the most excited I've ever been for a hockey game/series. As a casual fan, I can't help but feel like sort of a fair weather fan. Luckily, I have an extremely worn in 'Hawks hat dating back quite a few years to sport tomorrow.

Ok I tried this on a few MB's including the Black Hawks board but here goes. I'll be in Chicago May 27-30. I am looking for bars that would be considered hockey bars. I'm sorry but just because you are showing the Blackhawks now that doesn't make you a hockey bar. I am not a Blackhawks fans (Wild fan) but am a hockey fan and have been cheering for the Blackhawks all post season. I basically want to go to a bar where other good hockey fans are at. My main reason for this trip is to see the Cubs and am staying in the Lakeview area. I will take trains and buses to a good hockey bar. My guess is all the sports bars in Wrigleyville would show the game but once again just because you show the game doesn't make you hockey friendly bar. I know there are a few on here that are passionate hockey fans and any help would be appreciated.

i can remember being heartbroken watching eddie belfour slam his stick into the boards after giving up the overtime goal that clinched it for the penguins in 4. i can remember watching cujo make a very overrated career for himself standing on his head against us in the first round of the playoffs after we won the president's trophy. it's been a few years since we were this excited for the blackhawks, but that's understandable.

Let's put it this way. After I got out of the Hawks game on monday night, I immediately drove to a random Wrigleyville bar (Rebel, not that this matters). Upon my entering the bar almost 45 minutes after the game had ended, my friends (7 of them) orchestrated a 35-40 person chanting session/high five line for me and the girl that went to the game with me, followed by everyone in the bar taking multiple shots together. Then everyone proceeded to watch the highlights on CSN and crap themselves all over again.

 

If you go to ANY decent bar, there will be people going nuts over the Blackhawks game. I guarantee it. Pick a bar you like and don't worry about whether its a hockey bar
