Khabi let in that softie in the 2nd that I think really turned the tide... I think our guys would have responded so much better down 2-1 then down 3-1 in the 3rd.

This is what I expect to happen... defense played a decent game (way better than any forward did)... Buff was a typical new "nuisance" in front of the net (God, I love that guy).

 

Toews/Kane/Sharp/Havlat suffered this game, and that's not normal... usually they pick each other up.... next game is going to be a 4-2 or 5-2 Chicago win, I feel it.

I felt like we might see a letdown after the big road win, and everyone's talking about how the Hawks are getting to Luongo. Just felt like a typical Chicago sports team letdown coming, right when they should be at their strongest.

 

Kind of like game 3 of the Bulls series, or that final game at home vs. Toronto where they just need to beat a non-playoff team at home where they have a huge advantage, and just get beat anyway. I'm sure Chicago isn't the only city that watches its teams pull a stinker when they have the advantages, but man it really sucks when it happens.

The interesting aspect of these Conference Semi-finals beyond, of course, the Hawks being involved is the style of hockey. I may be completely wrong but, in Anaheim and Vancouver I see teams that dump and chase, hit, grind, take shots looking for rebounds leading to low scoring games. In complete contrast are the Black Hawks and Red Wings, they like open ice, carry the puck in, look to get goalie out of position with passing and score the highlight goal, would rather keep the puck in the middle of the ice than grind it out along the boards, basically they don't slow the game down to a crawl. I'm really hoping for a Chicago-Detroit conference final, I don't think anyone would watch a Vancouver-Anaheim match up.
