So I have been perusing some NHL/Hawks/Flames boards. I watched some of the festivities from last nights game. I noticed that during the dancing match that was going on over by the benches...The PA system was playing a Rage Against The Machine song(Renegades of Funk)...I dont think Calgary understands what that band stands for.

 

Also after rewatching the incident I am going to change my mind about Burish being suspended, the cross check was on the shoulder. It looked like a head shot when I seen it last night. The NHL may still suspend him though since it was clearly done to set the tone for the next game, which they have come out against this playoff season.

possibly true...sticks break pretty easy though and if it got him on the helmet I could see it not doing much damage. Lucic cross check LaPierre on the face and it didnt seem to hurt lapierre. Of course he was standing still as opposed to moving into his check. Lucic did get suspended for his cross check. If Burish gets suspended it will be more about the time and intent and not the actual hit.

CALGARY--Winger Patrick Kane returned to the ice for the Blackhawks for their practice at the Pengrowth Saddledome on Tuesday.

 

Kane missed Monday night's 4-2 loss to the Calgary Flames in Game 3 of the Western Conference quarterfinals with the flu.

 

Winger Martin Havlat and defenseman Duncan Keith sat out practice but are said to be just resting.

 

Meanwhile, it appears forward Adam Burish has avoided a suspension from the NHL for an incident near the end of Monday's game.

 

Burish cross-checked Calgary's Rene Bourque and broke his stick in half on the former Hawks' shoulder in the process.

Gonna look for Kaner to have a big one tomorrow. He's been invisible and we can't have that if we expect to go deep in the playoffs.

Directv has this game airing at 10 eastern on Versus. The Caps/Rangers game is set to air at 7 on Versus. If that one ends in regulation, there should be plenty of time to get this game on the air before the puck drops. Versus is going to be uavailable during the Rangers game for me, as it will air on MSG, so I hope it ends on time.

This of course after Keenan came out and said the Hawks were making racial remarks which all of the players vehemently deny and Iginla will NOT confirm it as truth. I hate that lying [expletive] head.

I went into the store and came out right near the tail end of it... and the guys were all up in arms about what Keenan said and believed he should be suspended one game for making false allegations. Never really known Carmen/Jurko/Harry to [expletive] when it comes to hockey, they're pretty objective.

I really don't like this BS the NHL is trying to pull.

 

Basically they "warned the benches" before the games about the scrums/fights. So the REFS are going to "try to send a message" by only sending one person to the box in these scrums. That's an AWFUL decision, what a bad idea.
