It would on the tollways in and out of Chicago, not in the city itself.

Anyways, are we likely looking at a night start here? Would the NHL and MLB shoot eachother in the foot by having a major market on National TV at the same time?

Any speculations on start times?

I might even sell my tickets to this game to watch the Hawks.

I think a late night game makes the most sense for Saturday. 10pm eastern. That's 9 in Chicago and 8 in Calgary. Hockey games aren't that long, barring OT.

But 3 eastern wouldn't be a terrible decision. It fits into the 1, 6 and 8 pm starts already scheduled. You compete with a Cubs game for TV eyes, but you go on air long before the first pitch is thrown and give more kids the opportunity to watch if they want. If there is any sort of weather delay at Wrigley (rain is in forecast) you could potentially get in 2 full periods before the Cubs game starts, and you could easily get all the Hawks fans out of the stadium before the 7th inning stretch.

I've been waiting seven years for playoff hockey, but I don't know if I'll be able to wait another three days. I'm pulling my hair out here.

My wife is used to all the yelling, yelping, cursing, and everything else I do during Hawks games. But the playoffs are really different. I've been preparing her for this, but I'm still considering starting to hide my assets now.

Lucky for this thread, I will likely miss the first two games live. I wouldn't rule out a suspension for me :-D Kidding of course!

All of the complaining/excitement/pissedoffness will be multiplied by 5 at least.

The game on Saturday the 18th will be an 8:00PM start for anyone wondering.

And it will be on CSN. My concern is, will I be able to watch it? Do they black out out of market playoff games on regional networks? Will they throw in on NHL network as well?

I'm very curious about this too, especially for Thursday night.

Thursday's game is on Versus.

And not on CSN as well? I would much prefer to watch on CSN if I can.

comcast says it's airing the game as well.

The Directv guide has CSN showing the Sox Thursday night, so it would have be a CSN+ channel. DTV does carry an extra CSN sometimes, so it's a possibility. Not a big deal, but it would be great to listen to Pat and Eddie and get to see/hear the anthem.

CSN's website says white sox pregame and game are on CSN+, and blackhawks pregame, game and postgame are on regular CSN.

What does this mean?

Thank you for your email. Since you are not in Chicago's local television market, you will not be able to watch any Chicago games on the local regional sports network - CSN-Chicago. You will only see their games on Versus or NBC when nationally broadcasted and in NHL Center Ice when the games are not airing on Versus or NBC.

At this current time, there are no scheduled games on the NHL Network.

Thanks,

NHL TV

I can't tell if this is saying I can't watch game 2, or if it's saying I can't watch the Versus games on CSN, but can watch game 2 on CSN.

It appears to say that if you have Center Ice, you'll get to watch any Hawks games on CSN that ARE NOT on Versus or NBC. So Center Ice fills in the gaps, and they would likely do so with the CSN feed (or perhaps both).

I knew that CI carried the first two rounds of the playoffs in this way -- they just make sure you have a chance to see all the games that aren't on national TV.

Okay, but isn't center ice just taking the CSN-Chicago feed? That seemed like a confusing reply. At first I thought it was saying I could not see game 2, but then I started to see it the way you explained.

Yes, CI would take the regional feeds. So if you're not in the Chicago market and don't have Center Ice, you are SOL for games that aren't on Vs. or NBC.

Let's get these games going already! I'm traveling and it figures, my hotel doesn't have Vs. They have 70 other channels, but not that one. So I'll miss the games tomorrow night, but I'll be hustling home Thursday afternoon.

Barry Melrose just picked the Blackhawks for his "Surprise team that could make the finals"

Then cops out and picks the Wangs to come out of the West. I really hope somebody knocks those jerks out early.
