Pittsburgh Pirates

Optioned LHPs Tom Gorzelanny and Dave Davidson and 3B Neil Walker to Triple-A Indianapolis. Optioned OF Jose Tabata to Double-A Altoona. Reassigned RHP Brian Slocum to Minor League camp.

This was the guy who was supposed to anchor the Pirates young pitching staff along with Maholm, Snell, and Duke, and now 2 years in a row, he finds himself in the minors. They seem to be losing patience with him fast. Maybe he needs a change of scenery ala Rich Hill.

I propose the Pirates send him to The Nationals for Josh Willingham, who doesnt seem to have a starting spot on the team, and would strat the season as a 4th outfielder. The Nats need pitching, the Bucs need offense, so it's a match.

Good. One less ugly Pirate to have to look at.

Bad. One less crappy pirate for our boys to rain home runs on.

Yeah, that's true. They'll just throw another unknown from the minors at us that we have no scouting report on.

That's exactly the kind of guy that'll throw 8 innings of 2-hit shutout ball against us too.

Too bad. I think the CUBS will miss him.

Is this last year? Or does this include '07 too?

Gorzo had a very good '07 and then got cocky.

Didn't really work hard before last season and lost his touch.

He got back into shape this past off season, but his mechanicals are a mess.

Don't worry. They'll tee off on Karstens instead. (Unless we get lucky and someone good is put on waivers.)

Maybe Pittsburgh will stop drafting college left-handers year after year.

The guy who drafted most of the now works for the Cubs.

They'll be 25 on the roster, Gorzo or no Gorzo.

But probably not

what, you wouldn't like to have paul maholm rather than matt wieters? crazy talk.

It was Danny Moskos, not Paul Maholm.

He0y [-X we don't need that kind of rough play around these parts, Jake. Most are trying to forget that person working for the Cubs. No need to bring it up.............. :D
