If Nova goes on to lose this game... that coach is a nimrodddddddddddddddd

right because i'm sure jay wright told the inbounder to throw a hail mary to a teammate who was well defended.

You didn't think it came from the coach to try that?

I'm not going to pretend I know exactly how it works... but it doesn't seem like anyone would be that dumb unless the coach told them too. Hell, I'd hate to be whatever nimrod decided to do it in the first place... doesn't really matter anymore, though.

that was the worst final play ive ever seen. did they actually take time to draw that up? lol!

i'm guessing it's a shot he probably takes alot when he's just messing around, and they really have no other play for that situation.

I feel like 95 times out of 100 where a team needs to go down court in less than a second, the they usually throw the hail mary and the ball is easily deflected away without the inbounding team even controlling the ball. Maybe they thought a guaranteed chance of taking a 3/4 court shot was better than the slim chance of throwing it across the court and taking some sort of off balanced shot.

Yeah, I don't know what else you're going to draw up with 0.5 seconds left from the baseline. I thought Nova was pretty dumb for not putting a guy on Fields, personally. He could make that 1 out of 25 tries maybe which aren't astronomically small odds.

it's common to send a guy deep in case the defense falls asleep and doesn't cover him - in that situation you have an easy lob pass that the guy can go collect even if it's off the mark. however, just like any other pass that the guy is making, you don't throw it unless the guy is free from a defender.

Well, my bracket's dead. Might as well root for Louisville to make it three Big East teams in the Final Four tomorrow.

Well it was pretty dumb when they have the lead and can just hold onto the ball and get fouled and make it a 3-4 point game there. There was what? 20 seconds left in the game? Would have made Pitt HAVE to foul... why risk the turnover (which obviously happened) when you're up by 2 with 20 seconds left and have possession?
