Northern Iowa vs. Illinois State for the MVC title tomorrow after ISU blew out Creighton by 25. Could very well be a one-bid league this year. Added Radford and East Tennessee State to the auto-bid list.

maryland finished 7-9 in the ACC... they might be on the outside looking in at this point, since the virginia loss is a "bad loss."

 

cincinnati is basically done after losing at home to seton hall. kentucky has lost their last 4, including a really bad home loss to georgia - they don't belong in either. florida is 22-9, but a really soft 22-9.

 

rhode island's shot at an at-large probably disappeared by losing at home to umass today.

 

cal should be in even though they lost to arizona st.

Dump Washington State after losing to Washington?

 

LSU's resume is winning at Tennessee and that's about it. Their noncon is horrendous.

 

Speaking of TN, they're one of the few bubblers to win their games down the stretch, BUT they've got a win over Marquette(which admittedly is a very nice win.) and nothing else. They have double digit losses to Temple, Ole Miss, and Kentucky(twice). Their best resume games after Marquette are a couple losses (@ KU by 7, vs. Memphis by 2)

 

This loss to Bama(down 10 at the half) probably shouldn't knock them out, but I'm not sure their resume deserves anything better than a double digit seed with a loss here.

1. I like Wazzou but don't think they can conceivably garner an at-large berth at this point. Not at 16-14 and no marquee wins out of conference to speak of. It's too bad, because they're better at this point than many teams that will get at-large berths.

 

2. I don't think much of LSU either, but at 25-6 (13-3) out of the SEC they are a lock. I bet they're surprised and disappointed at their seed though.

 

3. Tennessee is going to make it, but they're seemingly higher on the bubble list than they should be. The SEC simply doesn't have much of anything going for it.

 

So, in conclusion, I guess I'm just agreeing with you.

If they defeat tOSU, I think they'll make it with two wins in the Big Ten Tournament. Otherwise, they probably have to win the tournament to get in.
