finally Z is going to get some at bats this spring. I really thought right field would be good for him but if he can handle it behind the plate even better.

the game is not showing up on gameday audio

there is no TV or Radio for today's game only the "live" boxscore. IIRC tomorrow's game isn't being broadcast either, but they will be on WGN Wednesday night.

I like the idea of trying out Z at catcher.

I got the lineup from the live boxscore and had to delete the stat lines, must have hit delete one too many times for Carlos and deleted the P, and the C was there for his first name obviously. I fixed it :)

So we're actually getting 1 hit through 6 innings.

Don't worry, I'll never make a regular season game thread.

You're darned straight you won't.

So based off of that lineup our OD lineup will likely look like

Soriano LF

Theriot SS

Lee 1B

Bradley RF

Ramirez 3B

Fontenot 2B

Soto C

Kosuke CF

Z P

Maybe swap Soto and Fontenot or Fontenot and Theriot and move Soto to 6 and Kosuke/Theriot 7/8

Was that his first appearance this spring?

No. He pitched a scoreless 9th last Thursday to get the save (1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K).

I get the feeling that Lou has already chosen Vizcaino to fill that final bullpen spot anyway. Gooz will have plenty of time to to get it done in Iowa.

He's seemingly had the last 10 years to get it done in Iowa.

memory refresh time... guzman can go to iowa if he passes through waivers. i know that. but if another team claims him do they have to put him on their ML roster? does he have to stay there? i know i'm getting mixed up thinking of the rule v draft.

Guzman can't go to Iowa(well, not easily), he's out of options.

I think I miscounted relievers anyway. If they break camp with 12 pitchers, that would be the 5 starters+ Gregg, Marmol, Heilman, Vizcaino, Gaudin, Cotts/Stanton/Lefty, and 1 more. I guess Guzman could easily be that last guy, unless Shark dazzles his way through ST.

The problem is, Gooz better be impressive, because we all know how fast Lou looses patience, especially when it comes to young pitchers, and if it comes down to it, I doubt he'll care that Gooz is a one time top prospect, and ship him off to wherever.

That's not true. As long as the pitcher throws strikes, Lou has infinite patience to let that pitcher struggle to come up with a way to get hitters out, even if those outs are line shots to the wall.
