I'll try to listen to the first couple innings before class, but I really cant say that I'm excited yet. I'd normally be pumped like crazy for today's game, decked out in cubs gear, and finding a way to listen to the whole thing; but I just don't feel it this year. Maybe once a couple of these games go by I will, but eh. Stupid 2008 cubs broke my spirit. Jerks.

It's probably good that you're not that excited for a meaningless (and incredibly boring) spring training game (although it'll be fun to listen to an inning or two after all this time). If you're not excited come Opening Day, that's when you talk about your spirit being broken.

I think it's got more to do with being older than any heartbreak from last year, anyway. 10 years ago I would listen to the whole games and get just as excited/pissed as I would for a regular season game. That seems completely ridiculous to me now. But time went a lot slower back then and I guess the offseason seemed a lot longer than it does now. Before I know it, it'll be real opening day.

Meh.

Anyone who isn't jonesing to hear Pat proclaim that Chicago Cubs baseball is on the air did a better job weathering the long winter than I.

I hear ya... I don't care what the calendar says, those words mark the beginning of spring.

Theriot single to RF.

Milton Bradley not in the lineup? Commence panic sequence.

Milton Bradley and Aramis Ramirez are slated to start tomorrow.

Lee walks. Hoffpauir grounds into a run-scoring double play. 1-0 Cubs, 2 outs, Theriot at third. Or, as Pat calls him, Theriano.

Cubs already in midseason form, bases loaded nobody out and get 1 run on a GIDP.

Hoff has learned from the watching the rest of the team. I think he cemented his spot on the team with that at bat.
