Cubs already in midseason form, bases loaded nobody out and get 1 run on a GIDP.

That is definitely midseason form for the best offense in the NL by a wide margin (and second best in baseball) last year.

Figured I'd be the first to complain about the chicken littles. :)

In other baseball, Mark DeRosa is 0-1 with the Indians, and neither Felix Pie or Rich Hill has played in the Baltimore game.

A-Roid also homered

Yeah I am watching that game on MLBTV and DeRosa looks like he put on a few lbs.

It was hard to tell because the feed is pretty pixelated, but he def. looked bigger could have just been a crappy feed. But he looked 10-15lbs. heavier from about the thighs up. I would guess muscle, he doesn't seem like a guy who would let himself go and add that kind of weight without intending to do it.

Bah.

Give up some runs?

Yeah, 2-out 2 run single to Abreu. Samardzija got Pierre to end the inning.

2 walks in the inning hurt.

Mixed bag results for Shark, didn't seem like he had great command a lot of first pitch balls and deeper counts, he did get a ground ball when he needed one with the bases loaded. Likely didn't hurt any chances of getting the #5 spot but he probably didn't help himself either.

The command is an issue, but I'm not worried about him giving up runs in his first spring start. Lou will murder him if his command is off though.

Atkins now pitching for the CUBS.

What kind of stuff does Atkins have? Sounds like his numbers were real solid last year, any chance he can push for the #5 spot?

He'd be a longshot, I'd say.

He looks the same to me. I'm watching on TV.
