Chicago, IL (January 28, 2009) – Comcast SportsNet, the television home for the most comprehensive coverage of the Chicago Cubs in HD, has announced former Cubs and MLB standout Todd Hollandsworth has been named Cubs studio analyst for every edition of Cubs Pre-Game Live and Cubs Post Game Live for the upcoming 2009 MLB season. During the 2008 season, Hollandsworth filled in as Comcast SportsNet’s Cubs studio analyst on numerous occasions for Dan Plesac, who recently left CSN for the MLB Network. In addition to his studio analyst duties, Hollandsworth will also make regular appearances on CSN’s weeknight sports discussion program, Chicago Tribune Live. The announcement was made by Charlie Schumacher, Senior News Director for Comcast SportsNet Chicago.

“Todd’s enthusiasm and knowledge of the game will definitely be major assets to our Cubs studio shows,” said Schumacher. “Todd did a terrific job for us in the past and we’re thrilled to have him on board for what will undoubtedly be another exciting season of Cubs baseball on Comcast SportsNet.”

“This is a tremendous opportunity for me and I thank Comcast SportsNet for making me a part of their team,” said Hollandsworth. “The Cubs are definitely in for another solid season and I look forward to offering viewers my insight on their games throughout the season. To once again be affiliated with the Cubs in this new role is truly a dream come true for me and I can’t wait for the ’09 season to begin.”

Yep. I think he missed most of a season with the Dodgers due to a similar injury earlier.

i remember one of his home runs in particular where he swung at a ball nearly over his head and connected for a tomahawk shot.....he's definitely a superhero.

Wasn't that early in the year in Atlanta?

I'll never forget that faceplant against the wall out in Anaheim.
