I've been hearing from a few people in Florida. Evidently Tim Tebow made a deal with Urban that they'll run more of a pro-style offense next year to allow Tim to showcase his talents, and he agreed to return.

man if that is true that's pretty embarrassing for meyer. a coach shouldn't completely revise his offensive game plan to get his quarterback to stick around for one more year, and to pump up that player's nfl draft stock.

What if they ran an offense more like the one he ran with Chris Leak. Is that really a revision or was the Tim Tebow offense a revision from the one he ran when he got to Florida. Meyers has proven to be pretty flexible with his offense. I think this is a strength more than weakness.

Well they won the NC with what they ran this year so I wouldn't change anything.

And I can't see Meyer leaving for Notre Dame. At this point Florida is the better program and has more prestige.

Ball State QB Nate Davis enters the draft. 2nd or 3rd round pick probably, could move up if the other big names stay.
:(

(Unless he's drafted by the Bears, that is. Then \:D/ ).

Meyer tweaked his normal offense to cover the limitations of Chris Leak (he wasn't athletic enough to run the true spread option).

What he's run with Tebow the past couple of years has been the "true" Urban Meyer spread option.

ND is his "dream job" though. I could see him leaving Florida with the desire to build Notre Dame back up to what it once was.

It's not true. Anything like this is just FSU fans being delusional. Tebow may have asked to throw the rock more like they did in 2006, but they're not changing the offense. The offense he ran this season was most similar to the one he ran with Josh Harris (I think he was there, not Jacobs) at Bowling Green. The offense he ran last season was similar to the one he ran at Utah with Alex Smith. Really the two are the same, they just ran the ball more this year because they were effective at it. The only time he and Mullen really adapted was 2005 and 2006. Even then he had elements of the implemented of the other offense when Leak wasn't in the game, with Tebow and Josh Portis. My guess is after Tebow leaves if Brantley is quarterback you'll see the offense take the sky more often than it did even last year.

Yeah, Meyer's a practicing Catholic, named after a pope, was a highly regarded assistant at ND under Davie before he began his climb up the head coaching ranks, and wants to be at ND. He chose Florida over ND the first time because his kids were young at the time and he wanted to be able to recruit more locally is the scuttlebutt.

I want Charlie to be the guy at ND but if he proves to not be after 09 then man I really hope that report is true.

If you think it's me being delusional, well, you obviously need to recheck your facts. Unless my email is incorrect, that's a recap offered by not one BUT TWO different high school coaches whose players UF is recruiting.

Why would Notre Dame give up its decided schematic advantage in Charlie Weis to hire Urban Meyer?

"Those coaches may have a head start when it comes to recruiting, but let's see what happens when it comes to X's and O's"

Sam Bradford is coming back - wtf?

Not a certainty, but "sources" are saying he likely will.

Bradford was expected to announce his decision at a 5:30 p.m. ET press conference Wednesday.

Offensive tackle Trent Williams, who said Wednesday that he would return to the Sooners next season, said he believes Bradford will return.

Might as well add Williams as one who's coming back as well.

Are you worried about OSU next season like I am? Still waiting to see what Greshman is going to be doing.

Now Sam Bradford and Jermaine Gresham are left to make announcements. One of those is scheduled for today at 4:30 when Bradford will make it known to the public what he is doing.

Several sources are indicating that both Bradford and Gresham will return but I’m still not sold that Gresham is staying. I just have that feeling and I hope it is wrong. I believe that he is waiting on Bradford to announce and he certainly would improve his draft stock with another season like the one he had in 2008.

We'll know in 30 minutes for sure on Bradford.

Texas has to go to Stillwater next year, but at least the secondary should be real solid come then. Baylor could replace Texas Tech in the South as the 4th best team, and they will be competitive as well.

Bradford is staying (just announced it).

Stupid move on his part (Beane Wells/Matt Leinart.. ring a bell?), but I guess he didn't want to play for the Lions.
