I'm wondering if I bring my 2yo son over to TC, if maybe I can manage to end up with a Cutler autograph...:)

See? You and 10,000,000 other people are thinking the same thing.

He might not make it through the fenced area to the practice fields. I'll bet after a few days he'll be taking the cart around the back to avoid the insanity.

Nah...he'll make a special trip over to my kid cuz he's so much cuter than every other kid!! haha

Because of you I'll have to park a mile away and won't get in until practice is half over. Thanks!!

Bears sign Idonije to 2-year extension, through 2011. He was set to become an unrestricted free agent after this season. I'm somewhat surprised they weren't willing to let him play out a contract year.

Maybe he signed cheaper than they thought he would?

The Bears have reportedly agreed to terms with LB Pisa Tinoisamoa on a one-year contract.

The Rams leading tackler in 2008, Tinoisamoa chose the Bears over the Bills. His relationship with head coach Lovie Smith and linebackers coach Bob Babich certainly helped. Pisa, favored to start over Nick Roach and Hunter Hillenmeyer on the strong side, is expected to be a two-down player for the Bears.

Good move.

Is Hillenmeyer gone or second string now? How good is this pickup?

This is a really good pickup for the Bears. Now obviously he want get the same numbers in Chicago as he did in St. Louis but he is a much better LB then Hunter. And yes, IMO this all but assures that Hunter will be released. The Bears pride themselves in getting players who are versatile. Guys like Roach, Freeman, and LaRouque will and should contribute on special teams which Hunter has show he couldn't or wouldn't do. So yes, it is both a good move, and Hunter is imo will be released.

Massive busy day for the Bears today.

Indeed. Sign Idonije. Sign Tinoisamoa. Sign 7 of the 9 draft picks (all but Iglesias and Gilbert).

Anyone with insider care to share the Marshall rumor on ESPN?

Im guessing it has something to do with Marshall is a free agent next year, and the Broncos declined to give him a contract extension last week. I think it was David Haugh from the Trib, speculating that if he becomes a free agent he would be interested in the Bears.

Considering all insider seems to do is aggragate stories from local papers I'm going to assume it's talking about David Haugh's story saying that the troubled WR he'd to look at is Marshall who will be a free agent next season and was recently turned down when he requested a contract extension.

Post a quick link to the article and I'll tell you what it says. I want to know myself, and I'll look for it in the meantime.

3. I know that if I want to follow the saga of a troubled wide receiver who eventually might help the Bears, it won't be the tired tales of either Plaxico Burress or Matt Jones . Brandon Marshall of the Broncos may also fit in that category, given a troubling history with domestic violence. But Marshall also has a history with Cutler that would make the Bears logical suitors if the big-play threat hits free agency next winter, as many in Denver fear after the Broncos turned down Marshall's request for contract extension last week.

Considering Plaxico was busted accidentally shooting himself, and being a jerk, Matt Jones did some blow, while Marshall has been arrested multiple times for domestic abuse, I find it a little troubling that Haugh refers to those other guys as having "tired tales" while Marshall "may" fit into that category. Domestic abuse is by far the most serious offense on any of those lists.

The Chicago Bears could use some help at wide receiver now that they've filled the quarterback slot with an All Pro. The free agent market at the position is a little trim, with the troubled Matt Jones and past-his-prime Marvin Harrison representing two of the best available, but David Haugh of the Chicago Tribune has his eyes set on next offseason already.

Haugh notes that the Denver Broncos did not extend the contract of Brandon Marshall this offseason, and the receiver's current pact is set to expire after the upcoming campaign.

Doesn't say anything of note, just references the Haugh article and another in the denver post about pretty much nothing.

Definitely. Heck, he makes Plax look like a saint. All he did was hurt himself by being an idiot.

Found it. There's nothing there of any value. It's basically David Haugh wishing the Bears could snag Brandon.

While looking up that information, I did a little browsing, and I found this posted in the same section of Insiders on May 29th.

Brandon Marshall wants a raise -- and the Broncos won't listen. So he decided to skip voluntary workouts and move his rehab away from Broncos facilities. Sounds like a holdout, right?

His attorney told the Denver Post he isn't holding out.

But technicalities aside, he is.

Marshall has a good case for a raise: He is in the final year of a four-year rookie contract, which isn't much because he was drafted in the fourth round; incentives drove his 2009 salary up to $2.2 million, up from the $535,000 base. He was a dominant receiver for the Broncos, averaging 103 catches and 1,295 yards for the last two seasons. Similar receivers, like Andre Johnson, Randy Moss and Larry Fitzgerald, are being paid $7.5 to $10 million a year.

Probably the inspiration behind Haugh's article.

Well, he first carried a concealed weapon into a club. That's not exactly model behavior.

Almost as bad as Phil Rogers.

or Trent Dilfer.

ESPN is still spewing the hatred of the Jay Cutler deal on NFL live today. Dilfer says that Cutler is in for a "rude awakening" in Chicago knowing he won't have Schleffer, Marshall, or Royal to throw the ball too.
