Idiots. Get control of yourselves, you cannot afford to give up power plays at this rate. That was a horribly stupid penalty.

We need to petition the NHL to make the playoff games 8 minutes long, because that's how long we can hang with the Red Wings before we fall apart.

More unfair penalties to the Hawks when the Wings aren't getting called for the same thing... nice job refs.

EDIT: WTF? How was that NOT on the Hawks for cross checking?

lol, unfair? In plain view and no traffic, the Hawks guy came in for a check and elbowed him in the face. It could have been...

wait, they didn't call that? The puck went straight out?

Weird...

Someone should tell the NHL that calling all these ticky tack penalties that stop play and make the game really drawn out is not a good way to entice casual fans.

I'm not saying they should overlook obvious penalties but let them play a little bit.

I was thinking the opposite, maybe they are going for lots of power-plays to show off some skill.

Though some of them haven't been discretionary.

it looks like they are overlooking obstruction on the PPs, the first goal by both teams were aided by some obstruction.

Eager continues to win me over.

Work hard, but also put the puck in the net!

no he didnt, lilja was more worried about hitting him instead of body position

That's the end of one.

I'm glad I missed last night's game (Had to work), and get to see this one. Excellent so far.

I honestly thought the Wings were a little better 5-on-5, more consistently threatening. The Blackhawks picked it up a little later in the period, and hopefully they look just a little better in the second. Huet did a good job, but he was also helped by a pair of posts.

And on the replay, Conklin just plain lost the play and left the whole net wide open. Well, I still like Eager.

yeah he made a good play...I was just mad at Lilja, he has played awful the first period and that was just a terrible play on his part. Eeger made a good play to take advantage.

I though the Hawks didnt get enough pressure in front of the net the other night. It definetly looks like they are putting more pressure in front this game. They may not control the puck as much doing so, but it creates better scoring chances.

I think it's a bit unfair to Eager that a lot of people think of him as just a tough guy. He can really skate and he works really hard. I'm glad he netted one in this game.

We know Detroit can put up 6-7 goals. I hope the guys keep up the intensity.

Well, there's one. Firedrill defense on that one.
