I saw that earlier as well. What else is he going to say though at this point if they are waiting to announce it? All I know is that State would be extremely lucky to land someone like Petersen. It's hard to imagine MSU as being anything other than a joke in the conference. It's been about 10 years since they were consistently decent. Jackie Sherill was the coach back then.

Looks like Nutt used the Auburn opening as leverage to work out an extension.

Nutt agreed to a contract extension Friday amid reports that he was one of two top candidates at Auburn.

Ole Miss coach Houston Nutt agreed to a new contract Friday afternoon, one that will pay him an average of $2.85 million per season for seven years.

The terms of the contract were not divulged. However, a source close to the negotiations said earlier Friday that the deal will pay Nutt $2.5 million in the first year and average $2.85 million per year over the life of the deal, which is believed to be seven years. Nutt's previous deal, one he agreed to in November 2007, paid him an average of $2 million over seven years. Nutt made $1.6 million in 2008.

so Ball St. would finish in what place in the Big Ten?

I think they'd finish, at best, middle of the pack. I can't see them beating Penn St., Ohio St., Michigan St. or Iowa. Which would probably leave them being 5th at best.

well since they're down 11 to a 7-5 Buffalo team, I think you may be overstating it a bit.

Time to start sending that idiot Jason Whitlock some emails. After all his bragging last week he better have a "Oops" column this week.

I was trying to give them the benefit of the doubt but considering this loss and the fact that they only beat a terrible Indiana team. They probably would have finished even lower if they played in the big ten.

odds that Ball St. falls completely out of the BCS Top 25?

Zero.

how far do you think they fall?

20-25.

sounds about right.

Announcers speculating on a Ball St. vs. Notre Dame bowl game. Not sure ND would accept a bid there

I'm still alive.

Disappointed, but alive.

And Meph, as you can see, my signature was killed.

Thank God. I tried to block you when you had it. Didn't work.
