Plaxico Burress has shot himself.

The New York Giants wide receiver accidentally shot himself in the leg on Friday night, FOXSports.com has learned, not long after being ruled out of Sunday's game against the Redskins with a hamstring injury.

 

He spent the night in the hospital and the injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

That contract extension is looking better and better.

he shot himself? all the ESPN stuff says he suffered a gunshot wound at a night club. They haven't said self-inflicted.

 

Either way, can we please get some "no night club" clauses in player contracts?

So, will Goodell suspend Plaxico for this little mistep as well.

 

he should. I think having a loaded gun at a club would be breaking some personal conduct rules

That is going to be very tough to work in.

 

Nothing good seems to come from NFL and NBA players hitting the clubs

interesting. He's a celebrity, so 3 years = 1 year probation and a fine, but he's black, so.....

I really don't understand how some people can have so much freakin talent, yet be so stupid.

that's probably the maximum sentence that nobody ever ever ever gets. he'll probably get fined 20 bucks and have to go hug a few sick kids in a hospital.

No, New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg is big on the gun control thing and NYC has a law where anyone caught with an illegal loaded handgun is supposed to have a mandatory 3 year sentence.

 

I've also seen reports that Antonio Pierce was with Burress at the time, and that Pierce is the one that actually hid the gun and then didn't call the cops.

Here's the latest on Plaxico and the gun.

 

Still, cops plan to get a warrant to search Pierce's car because they believe Burress had the gun in his vehicle.

 

Burress is expected to be charged with criminal possession of a weapon, a felony that carries a prison sentence of up to five years, sources said. "He went for his gun and fumbled it. And now it will cost him," a police source said.

 

 

The state of Florida issued Burress a concealed weapon permit that expired in May. Even if it had been renewed, it wouldn't be recognized by authorities in New York or New Jersey.

Andy has to be happy with this start.

 

The Packers better not lose this game. I don't get it, they are clearly the most talented team in the division, even with injuries factored in.

Yup, very frustrating.

 

Could of beat.. the Bucs,Titans and Vikings the 2nd time. That would of put us at 8-3. We need to learn how to close out games.

And the Vikings are really talented as well. The divison really is not THAT bad.
