Does he see himself as a starter or reliever at the major league level?

What has changed most since he started just focusing on baseball? Has he been able to add more pitches? Throw harder/more strikes?

Posted

How would he compare playing in front of the home crowd at Notre Dame with pitching a tight game in front of the home crowd at Wrigley.

My initial thought is that there is about 100,000 people at ND, so a game at Wrigley is a walk in the park. . . . but there's the aspect of all eyes being on him at Wrigley --- much more scrutinized, I suppose.

I'd be interested in hearing his thoughts.

I am going to ask something along those lines following Eyre and Lou's comments about pressure.

Have you learned Mark Grace's theory on slumpbusters yet? If so, have you had a chance to test it out?

Judging from the following he's had in the games I went to I'd say the answer to that question is a resounding yes. I'm sure his teammates have also enjoyed the overflow too.

Don't waste a question on the cliche "what's it like to pitch at Wrigley" or how do you handle the pressure of crowds question. How many times can we hear the same stock answer?

Agreed, however Eyre mentioned they had un-needed extra pressure from the 100 year thing. I can't imagine Cubs pressure is greater than ND.

I could. They've look petrified in the playoffs two years in a row.

Plus, he ran routes and caught passes in college games. Thats a little less pressure than pitching in the majors I would imagine.

Maybe you could just interview me. I think I can answer all of the above questions the same way he would.

Which is more pressure, pitching at wrigley or Notre Dame?

definitely pitching. Most people are looking at the guy with the ball on a football field. Everyone's watching the pitcher

How much pressure did the 100 years ad?

We tried not to think about it.

Would you rather be a starter or a reliever?

right now I'm just happy to be in the big leagues and I'll do whatever they want me to do
