Texas A&M always plays OU close when the game is in College Station. As much as ATM sucks this season, I'm thinking take ATM and the points.

Whats the spread? I am thinking you win by 30 this year, this is the worst A&M team in a while.

any other year and I would do what cubinok said, but this aggie team is just [expletive] bad.

Didn't they give Tech a game?

They were up 3 at half, but lost by 18.

They lost by 4 at home to Arkansas State.

They lost at home to KSU by 14.

They only beat Army by 4 at home.

They're terrible.

It opened at OU -20. That just might be enticing enough to put something on OU.

If Alabama were to win out and Texas won out, we will see Texas in the title game. Joe Pa just can't win. This would be #5?

I don't see the Hawks beating Penn St., but I hope our D can hold them down and make a game out of it at least. Edited by bcl412

BCS Death Scenario

#1 Alabama wins out.

#2 Texas Tech falls to Oklahoma or Oklahoma State

#3 Penn State wins out.

#4 Texas wins out.

Texas would get in the Big XII title game and beat Missouri under that scenario.

They're also currently ahead of Penn State in the computers. They could jump over Penn State if they're ranked #3 in both polls.

Let's play God.

Again, the Colley Rankings you can add five games for the play god stuff.

I added these five games

Florida beats Alabama

Penn State beats Michigan State

Oklahoma beats Texas Tech

Oklahoma beats Oklahoma State

Texas beats Missouri

It spits out:

#1 Texas

#2 Florida

#3 Oklahoma

#4 Penn State

#5 Alabama

And that's not including Alabama having to beat LSU. If that happens, you may see them jump over Penn State. It's closer between Bama and Penn State than Penn State and Texas. Florida will also beat #36 South Carolina and #27 Florida State....they'd pass the 'Horns.

Translation: There's a legitimate chance four 1 loss teams are ahead of 0 loss Penn State in the computers.

What happens when a one loss Florida team beats a undefeated Alabama team? They would probably jump Penn St? Right?

im pointing out the obvious. it's not an opinion. if florida beats #1 alabama then penn state would be #1 in both polls and they can be #4 in all the computers and will make it. Edited by Mephistopheles

Tech wins the South if the oklahoma team they beat wins the OU/OSU game.

Here's a real death scenario:

- Bama loses the SEC Title game to Florida

- Penn State loses to Michigan State

- Tech loses to an Oklahoma school but wins the south, then loses to Mizzou in the B12 Title game

- Texas wins out

- Oregon State wins out

Who do you send to the title game? Florida goes with one loss and the SEC title, but you have 1 loss Penn State, USC, Texas, and Bama who didn't win their conference, plus a mess of B12 schools who each beat each other to have 2 losses(OU, TT, OSU, Mizzou). Michigan State would be a 2 loss conference winner as well.

The only thing really unlikely about this(aside from it all happening at once) is Oregon State winning out. Removing that condition, do you put USC in the title game over 3-5 more deserving schools because they won their weak conference?

EDIT: For some reason I didn't notice Ohio State had 1 conference loss as well. How does that tiebreaker play out if PSU beats OSU who beat MSU who beat PSU?

EDIT2: Wow, if I'm reading that right, it looks like Michigan State wins that tiebreaker, because they did not play a FCS school while Penn State(Coastal Carolina) and Ohio State(Youngstown State) did.

well, the scenario i made isnt stretching anything. the only single event with a probability under .5 of happening would be bama beating florida. everything else is pretty likely.

under your scenario there is a three way tie at the top of the big ten. Ohio State would have one loss in the Big Ten (and a win over Michigan State). Michigan State would win the tiebreaker for the Rose Bowl berth - nothing about the conference title. It's split. Michigan State would win the tiebreaker because Penn State played Coastal Carolina and Ohio State played Youngstown State. Either way, Penn State has a conference championship.

if texas tech and alabama go undefeated, psu fans will be pissed but there won't be a huge uproar. if one of those teams loses and psu is beat out for a spot in the national championship game by a one loss team, there will be a huge uproar from psu people and probably the entire big ten, and then the ncaa will make some more pointless tweaks to the system. they can tweak it all they want, but as long as there's not a playoff or at least a plus one situation, deciding the national champion will probably be a mess.
