the sixers should be pretty good this year, assuming that brand can stay healthy and the young guys like lou williams and thaddeus young continue improving. a starting five of andre miller, andre iguodala, thaddeus young, elton brand and samuel dalembert, with lou williams, reggie evans, kareem rush and marreese speights coming off the bench is pretty solid... or at least a lot better than the trash the sixers have been rolling out there in recent years.

still could use a true shooting guard, though.

I suspect Ariza will take a lot of Vlad Rad's minutes if he can be even an adequate shooter. He's a real difference maker out there.

Undoubtedly. In any case, he should be seeing more total minutes than Vlad. I don't care if he starts or not if that's the case. Actually, you can make a case that three Lakers bench players (Odom, Farmar, Ariza) should be playing more than starters, though that really could only be the case with two at most. Odom and Ariza should both outplay Vlad unless he's having a monster game. By sason's end, I expect Farmar to be getting over half the minutes at the point.

does beasley do anything but stand out on the perimeter and play bad defense?

Smoke weed in the closet at the NBA rookie symposium?

i guess i knew that, but it is still very surprising to see

most of them are really awful though, except Maggette, Boozer, Brand and Deng

bums like Nelson, Randolph, Redick, Williams, Ewing and Duhon make this list look better for Duke than it really is

Pretends he is his cousin Bosley and protects Charlie's Angels? My bad, that would require him to acquire guard somebody, and we know that is not his forte.

That crowd in Philly was pathetic tonight for what should be a competitive team. I know there's the WS game going on as well, but come on.

i think that's your answer...

i doubt there would've been all that many people at the UC last night if a world series game was in town

look i know it's opening day for the sixers, but the phillies were playing a potentially clinching game that probably wasn't going to take longer than an hour or hour and a half. i don't think anyone gave a crap about the sixers today.

The Thunder will struggle to win 25 games this year. I just hope they can win the lottery and Blake Griffin declares this season.

Mario Chalmers' line: 17 pts, 7 Rebs, 8 Assists, 1 TO. EAT YOUR HEART OUT ROSE.

Darrell Arthur: 11 pts, 15 Rebs, Blks.

Arthur beasted all preseason when he got to play. I see great things in his future.

In other news, the Lakers are pretty good at basketball.

Any reason Darko is starting?
