I feel like complaining about Casey Dick, because it sure is great to throw a pick with :23 left in the half that leads to the opposition scoring. But instead I'll just heap praise upon Michael Smith.

Last week he rushed for 192 and 230+ yards from scrimmage. He also suffered a concussion, and was questionable for this game. Tonight he's rushed 9 times for 67 yards. Attaboy, Mike.

It's always appropriate to complain about Casey Dick.

Mike Patrick just said it says something that Wilson holds most of the passing records at Bama considering the quarterbacks that have played there.

Yeah, it says volumes about the evolution of the game. Isn't he breaking the immortal Andrew Zow's records?

I don't know, some of those triple option and wing-T quarterbacks were pretty awesome.

That's what I mean. John Parker Wilson isn't a good quarterback because he all of a sudden holds the career passing marks at Alabama.

The game is just so much different with regards to the passing game. For example, Brady Quinn was the first QB to throw for 3,000 yards at ND and they've had a ton of great signal callers.

JP Wilson is a better QB then you are giving him credit for. I'm not saying he's a great QB by any means, but he is solid college QB who you can win with provided you don't ask him to do more then he's capable of (think of him as a college version of Trent Dilfer). You still have to have some talent---regardless of the system used---to set some records at a school as rich as Alabama. To diminished that because of the "evolution" of a game is ridiculous. Does this mean we can diminish what Tim Tebow did last yr or what Colt McCoy have done? You can't have it both ways.

What all teams do you root for RedFlash

Chicago teams not name White Sox (I got family near Springfield). Alabama Crimson Tide and anybody who plays freaking Alabama Polytechnic Institute, or Moo U, or better known as Auburn. What does that have to do with the conversation, if you don't mind me asking?

If this is going down the road I think you are asking, B, then yes when it comes to Alabama and the SEC I am douche bag, a tool, etc, etc, and I have admitted as much. I embrace my inner douche baggyness (I doubt that's a word, but who cares) when it comes to Alabama.

If I photoshopped the Longhorns uniforms to be red and black, would you notice a difference between the UT offense and the TTU offense? Over under 5 million passing yards next week. Ought to be fun.

Re LSU. We're learning more about them every week. I'm not ignorant. Anyways, next weeks' UGA UF game should be an elimination game for the SEC Title, and pot'l SEC berth in the NC. Unfortunately, it looks as if it'll be the third year in a row where a Big Ten team will have to win one big game and get in the title game thinks to weak scheduling.*

*The argument here really isn't that the Big Ten is weak. It's that conferences with championship games basically get a big game there no matter what. It's extremely hard on those teams. If the Big Ten (or Pac 10) had a title game, the schedule argument between the Big XII/SEC and those two conferences would go away. We'd see two Ohio State/Penn State matchups or something. It would (almost) guarantee the conference winner to have at least two big wins each season, just like SEC/Big XII schools have to have.

And lol at Big XII defense.

Five Things We've Learned This Week (Thus Far)

1. About the Big XII: Oklahoma is not a top five team. Kansas has no business being in the top 25. We still don't know anything about TTU. Okie State is the best school in Ok.

2. About the Big Ten: It's Penn State, Ohio State and a bunch of mediocrity.

3. About the ACC: The best two teams are coached by Butch and Bobby. It's FSU and the U again - of North Car. Wide L or R?

4. About the SEC: It's Florida, Georgia and Alabama to go with a bunch of mediocrity.

5. About the Rest of College Football: It's USC and a bunch of mediocrity.

Im a Wisconsin fan, and I have no problem with saying that the Big 101 is bad.

It isn't as bad as it was last year. The middle teams have improved. It's not in the class of the Big XII or SEC, but the difference is no longer night and day. The big problem with their schedules is the lack of a big championship game. Although you can't make that argument about Ohio State since they "played" USC.

if the Big 10 could get a 12th team, they would probably move to a championship game.

But that brings me to my beef with the complete and utter lack of consistency from conference to conference.

With the current system it's in the Big Ten's advantage not to play a title game.

Yeah, I just don't think its even close to the SEC or Big 12. That's just my opinion tho.

Hey, the stats Tiger posted a few pages ago had us 22nd. That's not mediocre.

Yes, I'm joking.

I may have to stab someone if Ohio State wins this one. The thought of them getting blown out in another BCS bowl game is just nauseating.

worse yet, it would very likely be them versus usc in the rose bowl. yeah, everyone wants to see that again.

Actually with the week to week turnover in the bottom ten of the top 25, 22 is probably mediocre this year. It seems as if every week we have four or five Big East/Big Ten/ACC teams getting in the 17-25 range and then getting knocked off the next week by teams who are then ranked in the 17-25 range...who get knocked off the next week - rinse wash repeat.

Yeah but if Penn St wins, and they finish without a loss, they probably make it to the NC game. And they probably get blown out as well.

In all honesty, mediocre might be a complement for this Tennessee team.
