LSU giving up 50+ twice already this year. Not a top 15 team

Are you just now realizing this? Alabama will probably blow them out too.

As much as it pains me to say it, but yeah, LSU prolly is barely a Top 25 team much less a Top 15 team.

rutgers' quarterback, mike teel, is not good. today in the first half against pitt he's 12-15 for 311 yards and 5 TDs.

Wanny!

A ranked Dave Wannstedt team is always due for a loss.

I was hoping they'd hold out one more week. Now we're gonna be favored next week, so Pitt's got us right where they want us. What a weird team.

pitt has a habit of inexplicable performances under the wannstache - both wins (at wvu last year) and losses (giving up 54 to a bad rutgers offense, home losses to bowling green earlier this year and navy last year)

Mike Patrick just said it says something that Wilson holds most of the passing records at Bama considering the quarterbacks that have played there.

Yeah, it says volumes about the evolution of the game. Isn't he breaking the immortal Andrew Zow's records?

Bo Pelini is a great coach.

I don't know, some of those triple option and wing-T quarterbacks were pretty awesome.

Hoping for a John Parker Wilson meltdown in Knoxville tonight.

Go Vols, Go Bucks!

Decent start for Tennessee on the first drive. Bama drove it with pretty fair ease, but the Vol d-line was getting some pressure and the drive ultimately ended with a field goal.

3-0 Bama

That's what I mean. John Parker Wilson isn't a good quarterback because he all of a sudden holds the career passing marks at Alabama.

The game is just so much different with regards to the passing game. For example, Brady Quinn was the first QB to throw for 3,000 yards at ND and they've had a ton of great signal callers.

I understand your point and agree. I've argued for a couple years now that John Parker Wilson is a very mediocre QB who is currently playing well because he has a great running game and good receivers.

He's holding records largely because he's played (I believe) four years now.

Pryor really does look like a Vince Young clone, right down to the goofy throwing motion.

He better hope he is more accurate.

After an extremely rare bad Britton Colquitt punt, Bama started their drive inside Tennessee territory. They got close to the 20, but the Vol D stopped them.

Another field goal Bama. 6-3.

JP Wilson is a better QB then you are giving him credit for. I'm not saying he's a great QB by any means, but he is solid college QB who you can win with provided you don't ask him to do more then he's capable of (think of him as a college version of Trent Dilfer). You still have to have some talent---regardless of the system used---to set some records at a school as rich as Alabama. To diminished that because of the "evolution" of a game is ridiculous. Does this mean we can diminish what Tim Tebow did last yr or what Colt McCoy have done? You can't have it both ways.

It's not ridiculous at all. Teams simply throw a lot more than they used to.

Alabama has had good quarterbacks but none have put up gaudy passing statistics. Wilson is mediocre and him holding all the records doesn't mean he's not.
