Yeah, but wouldnt it be worth it to aquire such players as Eduardo Zambrano, Robbie Fontenot, Geovany Sanchez, Bill Harden, Argenis Dominguez...the possibilites are endless.

Despite being a beloved former Cub, Grace would be a slight step up from Stockton in terms of interesting. Do people realize how much of a homer he was for Arizona? Multiply that by doing Cubs games and you have potential young a Santo in the booth.

 

Sutcliffe is much smoother and more ready for a top job like the Cubs. Grace need more time down on the farm.

Stockton does play by play (poorly), not a color-guy.

 

Grace, Sut, and Karros would all be good options NO DJ!

If Mark Grace became the Cubs color guy I might have to stop watching TV.

 

I couldn't agree more. Eric Karos would be a nice choice. I could go for Sutcliffe too, but I don't think he would be available because of ESPN and not wanting to do 162 games a year.

The Brewers would be stupid not to sign Brenly up if he wants the job, IMO.

 

On Grace: I'm not sure those fences are mended, new GM or not. Grace burned plenty of bridges in Chicago when he left.

Karros would be good. I don't see Sut leaving espn, they seemed to treat him great during his battle this year and I think he is very happy with them. I really would not mind Grace, I still like him.

Sutcliffe? Really? He's probably my least favorite announcer in baseball.

 

I'd only be in favor of Sut if he brings Bill Murray with him and they both get tanked before games.

ESPN doesn't pay that well to their second tier people. The Cubs TV job is one of the best paying in baseball. If he was offered the job, he'd take it in a heartbeat like anybody else (other than Stone who now works for about half of what he would be if he stayed with the Cubs. Nice move).
