it's really gotten to the point where I don't even want to watch this team anymore. they are absolutely no fun to watch, even when they win.

Gordon was a terrible defender as a rookie and the label stuck. He worked extremely hard on defense and improved a lot in subsequent years under Skiles's tutelage. He's probably about an average to slightly below average defender at this point.

I disagree...I know he tries really hard and constantly is working out and trying to get better, but the guy is undersized which doesn't help and he gets burned buy guys that are slower than him...I really think he just never will get above the level of D that he plays right now

Gordon is a bad defender. Maybe not the badness caliber of Larry Hughes, but he's just plain slow and small. Bad combination.

And this year more than ever, he's playing selfish. I'm sick of it. Him being in a contract year and the fact that the rest of the team sucks has turned him into a ball hog. The offense should run through Rose. Not Gordon. The guy cannot handle the ball. His charge on the 2 on 1 break was pathetic.

LOL, in one week the Bulls lost to the two worst teams in the NBA on their home court.

I know that is pathethic. I hope Paxson is "proud" of the team he has built. Because this team would struggle to win games in the NBDL.

How would you guys feel about Hughes and Nocioni for Jermaine O'Neal? Apparently its being discussed according to RealGM.

O'Neal is a 21.3M expiring contract after next season (before 2010)

it's more than I'd expect for Hughes, so I'd go for it. What is O'Neal's injury status?

I love O'Neal... I used to watch him in Portland when he was 19 and 6'11". Was a quality talent then, and has only gotten better... I say do it.

I'd do it in a second because Hughes needs to go and Nocioni is to inconsistent. It also makes sense because a lot of people are talking about how him and Bosh aren't meshing. I don't think he'd be the best improvement, but at least he can score and he'll be gone after next season

He's gonna be injured on and off for the rest of his career. There's no way around it. This isn't the Jermaine O'Neal that led Indiana for a few years. But he has managed to play in almost 30 games this year, and putting up decent numbers (14/7/2 BPG) for a team that has another low post option.

It's a good move because

1. Helps us rid of our guard glut with Hughes going

2. Gets rid of a player we really don't need, and who is under contract for 4 more years (Nocioni)

3. Gives us somewhat of a post presence and interior defender. Easily makes our team playoff caliber for the next 2 years and then gives us a crapload of money available in 2010.

I would do that in a heart beat knowing full well that JO is likely not going to be apart of any long term plan.

Agreed. And off the books in 2010 in time for Bosh.

Get O'Neal and Bargnani for Noah, Nocioni and something else.

Apparently, Toronto isn't interested in giving up on Bargnani at the moment.

Also, since people seem to be interested, this is the link that the rumor originated from:

http://www.rumorpress.net/

Doesn't sound like anything is imminent, but I know Chicago desperately wants and needs to make a trade and Toronto is more than listening to offers for O'Neal.

The guy that posted the rumor has an inside source and has a really really good track record for rumors (in otherwords, this isn't BigBird)

Bosh isn't coming to Chicago, neither is Amare, or Lebron or Wade. Sorry. 2010 is pipedream.

If we have $25 million free and someone isn't happy in their current situation, and they have a chance to play with a potentially budding superstar (Rose) a pretty decent 3rd or 4th option (Deng) in the 3rd largest city in the country that has a pretty decent (although not great) tradition, why wouldn't they?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think NY is the only team that will have more space than us to bid for FAs, which is fine because people would probably choose to play in NY for less anyways. They will have enough to get 2 of those guys. Wade will probably stay in Miami, but if he goes anywhere Chicago has to be one of the few places he will consider. Amare might also consider Chicago if the Suns start to flounder (and they are showing signs).

Also, this is the list of people that could be available in 2010:

Paul Pierce

LeBron James

Josh Howard

Dirk Nowitzki

Tayshaun Prince

Shane Battier

Yao Ming

Mike Dunleavy

TJ Ford

Zach Randolph

Kobe Bryant

Pau Gasol

Dwayne Wade

Richard Jefferson

Michael Redd

Tyson Chandler

Peja Stojakovic

Kevin Durant (restricted)

Samuel Dalembert

Jason Richardson

Amare Stoudemire

Tony Parker

Andrei Kirilenko

Caron Butler

The Raptors, however, are trying to come up with different variations of deals that would bring Nocioni and Drew Gooden to Toronto.

oh, my John. 6'10 Volume Scoring fowards that can't play defense and can't rebound are so valuable in the NBA..don't do it Pax..he is part of the "Core"

Consider our ownership.

I remember after the 2000 season when we were way under the cap and the pipe dream was "we're signing Duncan, Hill, and McGrady to team up with Brand and Artest!"

We ended up with Eddie Robinson and Ron Mercer :(
