Sorry, Sori, I don't want to think about your NLDS 2009 performance just yet. I'll deal with it then.

"2008 is over," Soriano said. "2009 is coming."

Be patient.

I love how Sori's advice to the fans is what the entire fan base would love for him to do, be patient.

This guy is amazing! First, the bold prediction that 2009 is coming.... ooooh!!! And then BE PATIENT? Are you kidding me?

if the contest is to lead the postseason in strikeouts, no extra base hits or rbi's two yrs in a row then yeah...he rules at that. I've said for two yrs, he is an extremely poor leadoff hitter & is not a player that can consistently be counted on when you need him. I'd love to see him gone along w/ several others. The offense needs to be able to manufacture runs. That starts w/ strong obp & speed at the top...neither of which he brings.

HE IS RIGHT A DIFFERENT BATTER AT THE TOP MAGICALLY MAKES THE CUBS NOT SUCK IN THEIR LAST 6 PLAYOFF GAMES OK BYE

Maybe not, but when Soriano doesn't hit he affects the rest of the lineup. I am a believer that he should hit lower in the lineup and a guy with a stronger OBP should hit leadoff. But most important, I would like for a team to have a good sound discipline at the plate not just in the season, but in the playoffs.

With that said, barring a miracle, I expect "Sorry I know" to hit leadoff next yr.

Soriano does not dictate the performace of the rest of the lineup. They performed just fine this year when he was injured or going through one of his cold streaks.

This is so like '04 when most wanted to get rid of Sammy and Alou. Let's not do that again. '05 and '06 were awful. Lets try and get a little better and go at it again next year. All these people who were rational before saying that the playoffs are a crapshoot now are forgeting that very fact.

I actually feel like the turning point in the series was when Soriano actually got a hit to start game 2, and then we didn't drive him in after he went to second on the wild pitch. If he'd of scored, then maybe we don't feel so much pressure in the top of the 2nd and we get the job done.

It's not a crapshoot when you turn in one of the worst playoff appearances of all time. The team choked, and Soriano is one of the worst playoff performers of all time considering the number of at bats he's gotten. Nothing wrong with trying to get rid of him.

There is if there is no better option to replace him. Getting rid of him to let Hoffpauir play is akin to moving Alou so DuBois can play. Now if you sign Manny Ramirez then by all means move Soriano. Even if we do that though, Soriano has a no trade clause and a huge contract that both make it impossible to move him.

I think its a brilliant prediction. He just said 2009 is coming. He never said what it would bring. Now how can you argue with that? However, knowing Soriano, some massive disater will wipe out mankind in the e=next few months, and there will be no 2009, making Sotiano once again, WRONG

2005 and 2006 weren't awful because the Cubs got rid of Sosa. He was clearly done after 2004.

Reliever Bob Howry, who gathered his belongings, including a Trek bicycle, echoed Soriano.

I thought this was a random quote from within the article.
