Can you dream up a more painful way to lose a game?

I guess the only thing I can think of is if the Bears were up 7 with 2 seconds left, and they brought Rex in to take a knee, but he missed the snap and fumbled, the other team recovers and scores a TD, then the PAT snap was botched, causing the holder to pick it up and run it into the end zone for a game winning 2 point conversion.

It's 3 times dude.

This team suddenly no longer knows how to seal a game. They just.........forgot how to do it.

Can we challenge the play clock?

Christ almighty who called the [expletive] squib kick....just the time spent in the air would have made us win that game.

The least you can do is win to make up for the Cubs chokejob.

And our secondary needs to be shot. I'm going to have nightmares about 3rd and long for the next two weeks.

I rewound my DVR several times and I've determined that the first second of the kickoff was the longest second in the history of mankind.

Also, the first second of the last pass play was the second longest second in the history of mankind.

On the first one, the receiver caught the ball and took at minimum 2 steps before the first second ticked off the clock.

On the pass play, a lot happened before the first second ticked off the clock.

Basically, it was a minimum of 13 seconds for those two plays, yet it only took 10 for them to get in field goal range. Amazing.

tell me again how that first pass play of the BEARS drive only took 1 second off the clock ??

If you're referring to their last timeout in the redzone, the officials put 4 seconds back on the clock. It started with :28 left on the clock, not :24, and ended at :23.

I'm not sure what Harrison was doing so shallow on that last play. There's no reason to play that kind of zone when they either need a TD or a quick pass in FG range. Let them throw short and have the clock expire. Stupid play call.

Actively rooting against the Bears... didn't I get a vacation for hoping Theriot's average dropped .001 point? Hmm hope he gets the same punishment.

I saw that on the final pass play. That clock did NOT start as fast as it should have.

Is there anyway we can protest that?

Yeah, I just rewatched the kickoff and that was at least two seconds. And the pass saved them at least a second, as well.

Sigh.

That one was nothing compared to how long it took for the clock to start on the kickoff. If anyone has a DVR and can still rewind, check it out.

And remember that just because it said 11 seconds on the clock doesn't mean there is a full second before it ticks down to 10. It says 11 all the way to the point there is 10 seconds left. The scoreboard clock operator took his sweet time starting that clock.

I think I'll go back and see how the clock ticked off at the tail end of the Bears touchdown catch.

Is this a Bears forum?

You were actively rooting against the Cubs on a Cubs forum. And you didn't even get a vacation, just a warning.

What's your problem?

Unfortunately I'm a Lakers fan thanks to growing up on the West Coast #-o

EDIT: Also, does anyone know how protests work in NFL? Is there any?

These are unwritten board rules. Also its just common decency to come into a board dominated by Bears fans after a really painful loss and celebrate. If you want to talk about the game from a Falcons fan perspective, discuss in the Week 6 thread.

I'm guessing the clock is the clock. Nothing we can do.

I mean, what if Brown didn't push him out of bounds? Let him stay in for one more second?

I'm not gonna get over this anytime soon.

His momentum was heading out of bounds, he would have been out at roughly (within milliseconds) the same time. The push was an attempt to get the ball loose so it was called a INC

Wow. That's really all I can say. I spend all afternoon at the bar drinking and watching the game. And now I'm just buzzed and pissed.

I'm not going to argue with the decision to squib kick. You have to be able to count on your defense to NOT give up that play. Zone? Seriously? Babich is terrible.

The deification of Matt Ryan will now continue, thanks to our [expletive] secondary.

There'll be an NBA regular season thread. There are a ton of Pacer fans, a few Mavs fans, and 2 other Laker fans here.

I think it's pretty wise to not taunt other posters. And it's really out of line to go into a game thread on a Cubs message board and root against Ryan Theriot just because you want to feel smart that you said he'd hit below .300.

Bears pythagoean record (using an adjusted formula for football) is 4.04 - 1.96. Amazing that with a 6 game sample size theres a full 1 game deviation.
