Both of those teams would have far better resumes and Penn State would deserve to be left out.

 

better resumes in term of strength of conference, not OOC. Penn State's OOC was crap, but Texas' wasn't exactly mind-blowing, and Bama's best was a now unranked Clemson team.

 

It's not Penn State's fault that they're in a weaker conference, but it's certainly not Bama or Texas's fault either. If all 3 teams were undefeated there's no way you take Penn St. All you can do is go off the games the teams played, and Penn St. beating the best of the Big 10 can't compare to beating the best of the SEC and Big XII.

Looks like Northwestern's defense decided not to show up today.

 

SIU was up 50-0 at half and cruised to a 60-7 win over Indiana State for our homecoming game. I think Indiana State should really consider removing their football program. They're now 1-45 in their last 46 games. Wow.

Regardless of whether it's because of conference or out of conference, the resumes still will be better. It is one of the problems with not having a playoff. It's not really Penn State's fault that the conferences are better than theirs, but it it what it is. The same thing happened to Auburn years back.

I'm rooting against the undefeated teams as well. I want as clear as path as there can be for LSU as well. But I also know that if LSU can go undefeated while beating Florida, Auburn, Georgia, and Alabama; they deserve to be in the title game no matter how weak their out of conference schedule can be. My fear is that LSU will drop one of those games, so I'm rooting against the undefeated teams as well. :D

Tennessee's on the edge of losing this one.

 

Defense has played great, but the offense just hasn't gotten anything consistent going. It's not over yet, but it's really, really close.

26-14 with 2:50 left in the game. I don't see the Tennessee offense producing two touchdowns in just under three minutes.

I wouldn't worry about 3 undefeated teams this year.

 

Texas would have to beat 5 more ranked teams with 2 on the road and 1 neutral.

 

Bama has to beat 3 more ranked teams, 1 on the road, 1 neutral.

 

LSU has to beat 4 ranked teams, 1 road, 1 neutral.

 

Missouri has to beat 4 ranked teams, 1 road, 1 neutral.

 

Texas Tech has to beat 5 ranked teams, 2 road, 1 neutral.

 

Oklahoma State needs to beat 5 ranked teams, 3 road, 1 neutral.

 

(By comparison, Penn St. has to beat 2 ranked teams, 1 road.)

 

Obviously only 3 of the above teams can win out.

 

I say it's LSU/Oklahoma after OK knocks off undefeated Mizzou in the Big XII title game.

Georgia's going to win this thing 26-14. Defense played great and Stephens looked good. Otherwise, mediocre play at best.

They shouldn't.(and probably wouldn't) I don't think Penn State goes undefeated though. A 1 loss Big XII team wouldn't be a complete crime. A 1 loss SEC team over an undefeated PSU team would be criminal.

we'll see about PSU. They look strong, but road games vs. Wisconsin and OSU, plus a season finale with a decent looking MSU all worry me.
